This is a problem I've had with the old text editor (non-tiny one!) for a long time. My workaround is click the bold key and then the cursor appears so you can type. (you can unclick the bold if you don't want to actually type all bold :)

My afternoon break from AR seems to have created some havoc but fortunately those breaks are often beneficial in other ways.  Even when the interruptions are "tiny" things, they seem to correct rather quickly and then "work" out fine.  Eventually.  I won't say it's "normal" or for how long this current state will last, but it seems better.  For the moment.

Looks like I missed out on most of the fun or lack thereof, haha.  I logged in last afternoon and tiny was back, which meant I couldn't tag people in the comments.  I logged back in later in the evening and the old editor was back, which appears to be what is here now and I could tag.  It seems that they are really having issues trying to get tiny to work properly.
