It takes a village! 

I joined with my Lions Club members to pick up ballots from a voter drop box at the Shark Tank (SAP Center) in San Jose and deliver them to the County Register of Voters Office to be counted.

It was an interesting experience.

On our last pick up, at 8:00 closing polls time, the box was so full that you could not even put another ballot in. As we opened the box to empty it, several voters dropped their ballots into our bag since they could not get them into the drop box.

Clearly, lots of people waited to the last moment to cast their ballot.

I worked at a poll as volunteer, brought a box of treats which were devoured in minutes

We voted early by mail in Maryland. We received email notices that our ballots were received and then received email notices when the votes were counted.

our firm secretary has been a poll worker for two decades.

Being a poll worker is a tough job. Up early, stay late. Kudos to those willing to help.

I was at the polls for 16 hours on election day aside from a few people the made rude gestures or flipped us off  most people were calm

It was nice to see all the young poll workers this year, made it possible for the older ladies that we normally see there to stay home and safe from the virus.

I am sure it's not a great job for this election. 

I did not, Annette but, I thank you for your efforts. It takes so many people behind the scenes on election day to make this very important right come to fruition.
