Technically no, as we can use a legally filed DBA.
Brokerage name must be present.
DRE# required on all advertising.

No one ever asked me if it's a requirement but I would imagine it would be. Also it would be hard if I just used my first name only. How many Bobs do you know, but how many Betel's are out there? It just makes life easier

Honestly, I have no idea. It's not something I've ever looked into, nor have I ever thought of advertising by anything other than my first & last name and my company name. There is also a benefit to the fact that my last name is the first part of the company name, so using both my first and last in advertising I think gives me a better position than "Joe Smith with Acme Real Estate". "Ryan Huggins with Huggins Homes" says that it's my company without me having to say it.
I cannot recall in 30+ years of this, ever seeing an advertisement with just a first name. I have seen agents using their maiden names after getting married during their real estate carreer due to existing branding and recognition, but never seen "Bob the Realtor" as an advertisement.

In Louisiana, we can have a DBA but I have never seen one with a single name.

In our state (VA) if you have a DBA registered with the licensing authority, you can use that. Not sure if they accept first names only in the like of Madonna, Cher, etc.

I know we have to use the name of our brokerage. As for our own names, actually never thought about it as I always use my full name.

Don't know but you would think since it is mandatory to include your license number they could trace anything back to a source. Advertising is expensive

I like it, I like it! I don't know if Illinois requires my last name, or not. I know that they do allow you to use a DBA, but not sure if that applies.

With that information, and the states professional licensing website, any pervert can find an agents home address. Using a DBA is how and agent can PROTECT themselves.
Seems some teams, mainly with one franchise, believe themselves exempt from the name requirement and the requirement the BROKER must be equally predominate on the signage. Apparently, here in FLORIDA, is more about what you can get away with, all these years, and not the letter of the requirement.
