There is no shortage of QB Pro training courses. Text books at Walmart, on sight and YOUTUBE will have a bazillion.
The fast track to success is finding one of these training programs or suppliers that can provide the most appropriate template for your friends business.
The friend needs to spend an hours clicking Play on YouTube then they will get a good idea of what they really want.
Advise: The seeker should be doing this, finding training suitable for them. You are putting yourself in an 'can't win' situation.
My preference is using those local companies that are doing taxes right now often offer QB training to infill their seasonal voids. Of course they want to become the virutal accountant.

Is there a Small Business Development Center in your area? SBDCs usually will have Quickbooks courses. Aside from learning the software, the users need to have a clear idea of WHAT they are tracking and WHY they are tracking it. What type of financial analysis will they need? How detailed? I would highly recommend spending some time in planning out the general ledger. Also, I would speak to the CPA who will be handling the taxes (federal, state, sales, payroll, etc.). The CPA may have some recommendations for you as well.

I do not, have tried & I think it's archaic. I think that now with some bookeeping installs there is a install helper that helps you set it all up. Ghostbusters just did a commercial on it lol.

I do not. I've not had a need as I do my own books ... learned by self-teaching and the school of hard knocks! May you find the resources you are seeking!

I don't use Quickbooks but I'm sure there must be knowledgeable people that teach the subject. Maybe see if there is a night class at a local college

Check with the Quicken website and Youtube, I suspect that there are dozens of tutorials for this product.

I've attempted to learn Quickbooks more then once and I've always failed Mary Vasilevsky . It's a chore I learned to turn over to a secretary.
