You don't need to be spending money on that stuff right now . . .

you NEED TO BE LEARNING YOUR LOCAL MARKET.

you NEED TO BE LEARNING THE FORMS.

you NEED TO BE OUT IN THE COMMUNITY.

don't fall for shiny things that teach you bad spending habits.

Too much for free out there and in here!

UPDATE: See David Gibson CNE, 719-304-4684 ~ Colorado Springs Relocation 's answer - he did the math and it's conclusively a hard pass in my opinion!

 Dana,

Those of us active here in the Q & A corner try to gently but firmly share advice for your own good.

Since I hadn’t heard of Ms. Aarin Chung, apparently an agent in California, I went to her Community Influencers™ site, signed up for the free webinar (which I’ll record and skim through) and then looked through her site and checked on her a bit.

Her web site boldly states that:

We’re the largest online learning community for real estate agents in the world! We’ve helped thousands of agents, just like you…

Really – the largest?

Then she says:

I’m a mover and a shaker, lover of all people, sucker for shiny objects, and Realtor to the Inland Empire.

Here is her LinkedIn site:

https://www.linkedin.com/in/aarinchung/

It does list at the bottom that she has a real estate license but her work experience has:

CEO at Honey Bar Media

Senior Sales Manager, Digital Advertising at Houzz

Account Manager on the Business Development Team at C. H. Robinson

Digital Marketing Specialist

History Teacher

She doesn’t list working in real estate.

Her franchise real estate web page:

https://www.searchallproperties.com/yourinlandempire

shows 5 active listings. Maybe that is off by one or two but I don’t think it is off by dozens.

Here are just a few of the time consuming (and money costing) activities that her webinar worksheet says you must do to be successful with her program:

  • Provide tons of value to your community.
  • Reach out to members of your sphere daily on social.
  • Email your database with a list of events weekly.
  • Host events virtually and locally to meet your leads.
  • Continue to provide massive value to your community.
  • Build relationships with your followers.
  • Strengthen relationships until they're ready to buy or sell.

Do you realize how much time it is going to take to set all that up, get people to find you and follow you and then maintain it?

As others here have mentioned, real estate is a people business, not a social media business.

Be sure to read the comments by Candice A. Donofrio and Barbara Todaro.

There are no shortcuts to building viable real estate business.

People have to know you, like you, trust you and need to buy or sell.

The very best to you as you get started but beware the shiny objects. This industry is full of them.

I truly believe that only we know what we need.  Reach within yourself and determine if it is the right thing for you!

This is the second time I've read a question where you mention "Keyes" - I do not even know what that is.  I am presuming it is a brokerage.

Either way, I wish you all the best!

get out there and beat the pavement..... my first task was to handout 1000 business cards.... and I did it quickly.... then worked on my second thousand.... it's a people business.... people will refer business to you.... ask for the business....if you don't ask, you won't get....

Promises?  Sounds interesting but is there any evidence of success offered/shared?  Extensive is often a synonym for expensive.  Choose wisely.

Dana Stoloff, you are better off to implement successful habits, be a student thirsty for industry knowledge and be self-motivated to do the work. No one can show you the short cut way to success and there seem to be a lot of people peddling their wares to Newbies for their own gain - less yours.

Their specialty is to sell shiny objects to sucker real estate agents! Don't let them scam you!

Your best way to build business is not with shiny toys but, face-to-face, belly-button-to-belly-button. Period. And, that doesn't cost you more than the cost of a cup of coffee!!

I would follow the guidance Candice A. Donofrio laid out. Don't spend money on stuff like this, there are other more important things to be doing. There are far too many silver bullets offered (websites, lead gen sites, tech tools, apps) that promise to help you be successful that are simply going to drain your bank account, frustrate you, and yield nothing. But you know who is getting richer!

I watch the webinar and then looked her up. She doesn't have any sales anywhere that I could find.  I sent an email asking for them and it was ignored.

My training program launches in a few weeks for $47/m no contracts and I have earned over $103,000 in July and will earn $108,000 in August.  You can look me up on Realtor.com and zillow :)

Sometimes it's so easy to fall prey but as several have said here, its a people business. I would rather contact my title company and pick a farm to market to then spend the money to this "Influencer" who some have researched for you.

How does one become a community influencer? Is there a community vote or do i just make the claim to help sell my product? Her real estate website is a perfect example of what NOT to do with a wesite. If this is the best she has, run away.
