I have used them for many years. Be sure to read the contract you sign - and make sure they honor it.  However, the website is great and we have had a ton of success with them. https://www.bendpremierrealestate.com/ Our current website is 4 years old and over the years we have worked with REW, we have generated over 30,000 leads (used a different system before the current website).

Sorry.. have never heard of them. If on-line reviews have been abysmal, why are you still considering them?

It used to be, if you really wanted to know, you asked all your friends and family and then some, about their opinion.  Today, a review, or lack of, has replaced the way we base our way we ask. An online review from another person, is as good as one from a friend and online reviews are the way to go.

I have NOT dealt with them Gary Lucido but over the years I have dealt with a few others. #1) Stay away from anyone who requires a contract greater than month to month. I was locked into one (who is active here in AR) that was absolutely HORRIBLE! They feel far short of their promises, including linking to my MLS, but they would not let me out of the agreement. It was a nightmare.

I will start out by saying that I am a current Real Estate Webmasters customer, but they aren't my first rodeo.

I have tried a few other companies, but honestly, the results weren't there. REW is the only provider that has even come close to helping our business grow. Their websites are set up properly with SEO, so your site is good to go as soon as it launches.

Our ROI has been crazy this past year, averaging about 10x our cost. The CRM helps our team follow up with leads, without anyone getting lost. I truly love our site, and the management of it keeps us going.

When we first starting looking to move our site from another company (I don't want to bad mouth them, because I don't want to offend), we saw the reviews too. I can only guess it's because of price. They aren't cheap, but they are also far from expensive, especially when you look at your returns. So glad we didn't listen to the reviews, it would have been a costly mistake.

My best recommendation is talk to them. They really know their stuff, and truly want you to succeed. It's been a refreshing change of pace from our past experiences with other companies, and I totally recommend them. Our sales guy is Jeff Whitby, ask for him. He is incredible, and most importantly honest and funny too. 

Good luck with your site - it's a headache at this stage, but gets easier once it's up, unless you make the same mistakes we did, lol.

For what I've seen REW has very fast-loading and good-looking websites. But, they are very expensive.

Not sure about the reviews, but if it has anything to do with rankings, just understand that no website will rank out of the gate. A lot of work and expense has to be put in SEO for it to rank.

Even with the same system, one agent could be getting 200 leads per month, while another could get 5.

By the way, for those that think the poster was asking about a webmaster in general,  "Real Estate Webmasters" is a company like Real Geeks, iHomeFinder, etc.

I looked at their product years ago when redesigning my site.  For the most part, it wasn't anything I couldn't do myself.

I took a quick look. It is OK. It will not get you leads as much. 

Anything within real estate used by real estate agents will have significantly large population of those who like and dislike EVERYTHING.

The real issue is those real estate agents  who experience disappointment, just like the typical consumer, feels compelled to tell ten people.

Unless the review and comments are validated by the credentials of the writer (It didn't work for me is not a valid response to ANYTHING)  it is nothing more than another agent who wanted it done for them.

All of these programs work, but not for everyone.  And we hear mainly from the 'not for everyone' group.

Now, to give some informed response to your question one must ask, "What do you expect your new website to do for you and your business?"

If it is to be a pipeline, email address collector accomplished by posting entertaining video, the requirements are much different than zeroing in on the 90 day market for real estate buyers and sellers. 

It is a website. They all need care and feeding. Care and feeding is typicly where the wheels come off the wagon for most real estate agents.

Debbie Gartner thanks for tagging me. I am surprised by the number of agents who have not heard of REW. They are one of the biggest players in real estate websites.

I know many people who have used them and have heard nothing but complaints. While their sites are set up well to succeed they are extremely expensive. You will be nickel and dimed on every change you want to make.

For me I would never want to have to ask someone to make a simple change to my site - I would want that control.

In my opinion, you can do just a well with a well-optimized Wordpress site.

No experience with them. If in doubt Gary - toss it out! There are plenty of other website companies who may do a wonderful job for you. Ask Craig Daniels for advice, he is a tech guru!

I have heard good things about them (and some complaints) and that they are VERY expensive and very expensive to make small tweaks.

I have heard that their site speed is great and that's really important for user experience and SEO.  But, I'll also say that if you know what you're doing, you can solve/mostly solve this issue via hosting, CDN's, proper image size and compression. (e.g I am pay $100/month in hosting and it's well worth it and may upgrade at some point next year).

The problem w/ the input you're getting here (esp w/ those that haven't heard of them) is that many here don't even have their own websites/don't invest much money in their blogs, so they just don't know.

I know that some real estate agents have been super successful w/ them.  I also know that that there are others that do even better wo/ them.  I'm not a real estate agent, so you can take my input w/ a grain of salt.

Paging Bill Gassett who is more in tune with all of this and can give you a much better answer than I can. He knows more of the inner workings and more people that use them.
