I believe the right term is lurkers. Stalkers have malicious intent.

We all have that number at our fingertips.

How many visit your website spend more than a minute and to not reveal?

How much FREE stuff does an agent give away to anonymous folks and how may call due to the year end calendar?

It is important to remember, the whole point of marketing is to be present when their need matches your solution. Of course there is an extensive list of touchstones before that hand raising point for the general public so it becomes a better idea for some agents to focus on those that are not general public but closer to needing the agents solution.

Some YouTube videos have 35,000.000 views and 1,000 comments. That is a LOT of lurkers.

I think it differs from person to person because on social media you get what you give. If you're out interacting daily liking and commenting others posts then you should get a recipricatory response from the majority of those people- otherwise you need to find some new friends. There's always going to be those who watch from the sideline. I'd say anywhere from 40-80 people on IG interact with me regularly, out of 1300 that could.

Every individual has their own priorities about where they spend time. Business people update and adjust as needed including where they lurk.

Lurkers are also learners so bring them on.

Also getting into Active Rain is to learn a different social culture where reciprocity is highly valued. As Liz and Bill Spear often point out, time demands can sometimes proclude commenting on posts.  No two agents will contribute in the same way.

I would ask any watcher considering where to spend their time: "Where are you getting the most actionable information to grow your business, answer almost any question, or test out new ideas?  From the dues you pay or from Active Rain."
