Well, there are fewer days between Thanksgiving and December 25 this year. If one wants to find correlation between anything, there is that possibility. As far as big pictures, I tend to think about different things.

Our early snow served as a wake-up call to get those lights up Peter Mohylsky . Thank goodness we have had many warm days since that 1st snowfall and all those who were going to put up lights got them up now.

No, I think it's because it's such a major project decorating your home, people want more than 30 days before they have to put all of it back in storage.

NO, people are just nuts & rude at the same time. If it is one thing that the world needs is for people to slow down for one day & think about what they are thankful for. They won't do it.

I don't think it has anything to do with snow. People seem to want to skip Thanksgiving and go straight to Christmas. Then the day after the decorations are down. Our OLD ways were put them up just before Christmas we left them up until after New Year. Cahnge of the times.

It is difficult to get the holiday decor up and off and up and off and up and off . . . Thanksgiving Harvest in early Oct. Then Halloween. A break for Remembrance Day then the Christmas stuff before the freezing weather makes it near impossible to be outside! When is the correct time did you say?

Peter,
I think the early snow and the few warm days we have after each one prompts people in our area to get their lights up so they aren’t trying to do it when there are no warm days left.

Early emergence of Christmas lighting and decor is driven by the low cost products from a country that does not respect people of any faith.
It is somewhat ironic that most HOBBY LOBBY products, especially holiday decor, come from China.
Big picture global warming? Those California tree hugger who were the driving force behind the wild fires, have seen the result of their ban on plastic single use grocery bags. Citizens are buying MORE bags and the double problem of more plastic and increased global warming from paper manufacturing. BUILD THAT WALL before the fruits and nuts escape.
The unfortunate part of the highly efficient LED lights is that folks went the opposite direction and are installing two /tree times the lighting , 5 times more TV, and power leeches in most wall receptacles, much more than normally used. Total power consumption went the wrong way.
Very similar to the pattern seen in the ban on single use plastic bags;.....squeeze the balloon only to see it pop out somewhere else. Human nature is hard to change.

Since we don't get snowed on here, I cannot answer.
Our Christmas lights go up after Thanksgiving and are not weather related.
