John willson I'd be reaching out to builders and to the public. How to reach out to them is a different animal as it would not be the same method for the two.

As a consumer I've looked for floor plans in the past and I went to Menard's and to the library. I've represented several builders over my career, in fact it's how I made my living, and they always found great floor plans but I never thought to ask where they found them. That might be your best bet, to contact local builders and ask them where they find floor plans.

 Reach out to real estate companies and ask to bring lunch or breakfast to their weekly meeting or a training class. Assuming you're also an appraiser, you could also offer to do a training class and talk about measurements, appraisal discrepancies, values of upgrades, etc. Drop off flyers to RE offices. Connect online (Facebook) but, don't spam.

First, develop your talk on how this actually creates more income for the agent or how this will create more leads for the agent.

There is no end for the opportunities to add sprinkles to what agents already do but like sprinkles, they bring very little value.

There are four attributes of value agents will pay for. Know what they are and wrap your talk around one or two of them.

Hire one or two or three agents to use your plan, document their incredible success and then you are off to the races.

How can buyers be helped?

What's the price? Why it's worth the price? You won't take 2 weeks to do the floor plan as everyone else does it in 2 days!

  • Get involved with the local realtor association.
  • Sponsor events
  • Go to open houses
  • Bring lunch to broker office meetings and talk at the meeting and stick around to answer questions
  • Contact top producing agents and offer a discount/free trial to get your name out, with the agreement that you can say "used by so and so" in your marketing.  (big companies do this ALL the time in the tech world).


Here is for writing about the benefits and about different aspects of floorplans and hoping that organic search traffic finds the blog post.

Things in my market work quite differently. While all the suggestions above are all accurate, I would add network with real estate photographers/ photography company's.  All of my floorplans are an a-la-carte order with my photography company. It's usually the photographer that is taking measurements and creating the sketch- though I am not sure what happens on the back end that creates the offical floorplan.
