I think it's the stupidest thing a Realtor can do. It only feeds the beast that is already robbing us Wayne and Jean Marie Zuhl 

I do not buy leads from anywhere.  I believe doing so is an enormous waste of time and money. I generate m my own leads from y website. It works for me. 

So let me understand, you work hard...beat out other agents for the listing....give it to Realtor.com for free....and then pay them for leads on your hard work. Really.....

Buyer leads are easy to get, go make your own.

I have never bought leads from anyone, and don't plan to.  There is no guarantee.

It is not the cost of buying leads...which our Team does...that is the problem. It is not having a well constructed plan to follow and convert those leads that is the prohibitive cost of buying leads.

Lead follow up must be swift and repetitive. Those who do it should have  measureable goals and hold themselves strictly accountable or it is likely that money will be wasted without beneficial results.

I gather from a comment, that your friends number are not smoke and mirrors.  And $50 a month is not so prohibitive.   Perhaps, it will work for you, I just have not seen it happen except in the very first days of IDX and the Internet.  Our client closed 1-2 a quarter in the $800,000 + range, and then the same effort did not yield much as everyone got into the game.  A

I recommend generation of your own leads.
