I did at one time for design ideas, had my fav HGTV construction pros.  What sours the experience is the fakeness of some shows that require realtors to manage expectations of buyers who watch and think what's on TV is factual.  

Had to spend time on reality check when one buyer appeared "disappointed" with the process, only to find out that a particular program was their frame of reference for measuring their own transaction.  We spent a lot of time talking and explaining about what happens in real life vs TV fantasy land. LOL!!

I don't think they are very realistic ... makes me chuckle at the cost of a repair that I know I could get it done for a much better price.

If I had a choice of something to watch ... it would not be these remodeling shows. I live in the Real World of Real Estate ... IMHO.

Not that often.  My investors watch them more.  I tend to find really cool looking layouts and designs in other shows.  Saw a couple really sweet kitchens in a couple episodes of "Psych" and a real nice center island on Netflix's latest season of "The Punisher".

When my choices are Womens Soccer, Cooking with tangerines and Home Remodling Network, I go to Netflix and watch something with sub-titles. Even those are better.

I actually was full time witness to a show done here in Dunedin FL.

Everything is so fake that it has become insulting. In this case, when the show was produced the house had sold 3 months previous. Fake sellers, fake buyer, fake fixing and unfortunately a real live REALTOR.

Sometimes. There was a time I didn't primarily because I was too busy as a Realtor and a mom. Now I'm an empty nester . Sometimes my husband & I will watch them together although he doesn't always enjoy watching with me. I will call them out for things like not wearing a mask when doing work on an older home that could have asbestos or lead based paint.

At times, yes.  But they can get too silly or infuriating at times too.  The misinformation spread by the show can be overwhelming.  When that happens .... "Click"!  The channel gets changed ...
