I don't and haven't for 26 years. The one thing I promised myself when I retired from the corporate world in 1989 is that I would never again do a business plan. I've kept that promise and have done very well without one.

I have a business plan. At this stage of my life, I'm not as active in the business as others, thus it is eaiser

I do and it is somewhat fluid to allow for the unexpected. It helps keeping me on track.

I do. I feel it help me stay on track.  I have always tried to have systems in place much like any corporation would.

my business plan is no longer in writing.... I know what my goal is annually with leads for the two team members, and I'm aware of what it takes to produce those leads....my job is simple now.

When I come to understand something the world then answers to me

My business pan pretty much flows. I then can adapt or add anything as the market swings or seasons change

I, as you know, have only one business plan.  So far, it is exceeding my wildest expectations

Yes -not rigidly. 

Easier ... no.  Yet easier because I know what I am doing and why versus being all over the road! 

well if doing whatever my wife tells me is a plan, then yes I have a plan and it's certainly easier when I do what she says.

You must have a Vision for your business

My question to you is, are you a business owner? If so, you need a plan! 

Can you imagine if Apple didn't have a business plan? Or Wal-Mart, Exxon, Amazon...or any Fortune 500 company? 

Just because we are small business owners doesn't change the need for a business plan and set goals. 

It depends on what type of person you are evidently by all these varied answers.

I'm with Nina Hollander on this.  No business plans, no written goals (S.M.A.R.T. or otherwise) and absolutely NO coversheets for my TPS Reports!!!! 

I do well without them and, like Nina said, I'm not looking to bust my hump prospecting to grow my business.

Plans are great for people who are new to the business and who need that level of detail.

A business plan?

When most agent practice accidental real estate, a plan is unnecessary and having that 2nd job is essential.

A business plan actually frees your mind to see greater opportunities.

I have a "plan".  Be good.  Be kind.    And at times just Let It Be. There are some who believe practice leads to perfection.  I wonder about that... 

Don't really have a business plan, but definitely know what I need to do to bring in business regularly.

I am a believe you need to have a plan to get to where you want to be.
