I think it would depend on your state laws regarding real estate. In Texas we would be required to edit that blog and mark it as sold.

Bob,
You can write a post that the home is sold, or you can add a comment to the original post that the home has sold. The first would be more effective because it is 'FRESH" news. A

You have the ability to edit any of your posts.
Even better, post another blog about the sale. Every transaction provides stories to tell.

Congrats on the sale! There are a couple schools of thought on this:
- Go back to the for sale blog, click the pencil icon to edit it and write in that it's sold.
- Delete the old blog.
- Leave well enough alone and write a new blog that says "Sold".
Here's my take on the three schools of thought:
1) This leaves you with one blog and one chance to show up on Google. However, this is the most accurate way because you're not leaving any outdated info out there. The downside is, if you did any other blogs (price changes, open houses, etc.) then you'd have to edit them as well for consistency. If you're concerned about points in this system, then you miss an opportunity for another 250 points.
2) Deletion removes permanent advertising, backlinks and the chance to show up on Google. Plus if you care for the points, you will lose your 250 points for posting the blog in the first place, if it's been less than 6 months.
3) You get 250 points for posting another blog. You also get ANOTHER chance to show up on google, more backlinks and in general more chances to show up in the search results.
I choose option 3 for the more opportunities to show up on google. Plus, with the wide variety of places I post to, it would almost be a full time job to go and edit each one for every status update.

Congratulations on the sale of your listing!!!
Consider what Richard Weeks said.
If it were me, I would write a new post and link back to the listing post. Tell the story. Make it engaging.

When a listing sells about which I have written a blog, I go back and enter the pertinent SOLD information as a comment on that blog.
Other suggestions in response to this question are also good.

I try to edit and market it sold and put a link to "similar" homes on the market on my IDX site.

I have had buyers find my blog where it was just for sale. Best to go in and edit it, (I use red font) and say it is now sold.

Write another post for the Just Sold. Leave the original one alone. I only go back & edit old posts if the price was changed.
