Richie, I would not glorify anything that could become a natural disaster.  No fatalities that I know about, but plenty of injuries, fires and damage.

I didn't say this, one of my (SoCAL) high school friends did! So no hatin'!

"The CA earthquake was the Founding Fathers turning in their graves!"

In ALL the (over 30) years I lived in SoCAL, I NEVER felt an earthquake. I slept through the 71 SFV. The 86 just outside Palm Springs I was driving home and didn't feel a thing.

The Northridge was exactly 3 months after we moved! Our duplex just off Sunset in Hollywood was decimated. The second floor roof dropped to the first floor!
The first one I ever felt was the Hector, CA quake in 99 - in LAUGHLIN NV! LOL knocked pictures off our walls.

We did not even feel it in San Diego. We were outdoors at the last day of the San Diego County Fair. Perhaps all the fried food odors in the air dulled my senses?
