This is one I wouldn't worry about - no debt collection company has ever had my information! 

So the russians are into the debt collection business now too. 

Identity theft doesn't care whether you're in debt collection. AND an investor could use the data to start a phishing campaign 

Not something I have time to think about. We monitor our personal records very carefully and beyond that it's not in our control. And have never had anything to do with a debt collection company.

They could sell that info to investors that are looking to purchase what they are behind on.  (I am thinking homes or land)

That is not good at all.

Account numbers would be my first guess leading to credit fraud and so on.

The possibilities could be endless but that's all I will say...don't want to give the bad guys any ideas.

Let me count the ways ..... the uses are endless. Like Debe Maxwell, CRS - I am not concerned ... my information is NOT in those databases. 

The info could be used by scammers who are calling debtors demanding payment that goes in their pockets and not to retire the debt. 

I hope your data is not at risk.

I'm sure I don't care as there are those that get to deal with things like that and I'm not one of them, I get paid to deliver the goods and close escrows, so that's where I'm focused.

By the criminal world, any breach can be used for profit.

There will likely be socials in the breach, but most importantly debtors and who they owe money to.  Easy to use that for nefarious purposes (I've removed my first thought from here for safety of others).

A Realtor could market pre-foreclosure data to them.

Supposing we knew everything about everybody? What then? What I object to is predator-prey tactics using peoples own information on/against them....

Not on my "to do" list. The hackers are out there, get used to it!

Glad I won't be part of that breach! 

Who ever knows why they do what they do?

The hackers can probably sell such a trove of personal information on the black market for a pretty penny.

The possibilities are endless. I can’t even imagine things the criminals will come up with to extort, blackmail, or just plain steal from others. 

Well it's likely they have no money to steal. You could take their identity but you probably won't be able to get a credit card with it. Maybe use their identity to bring in illegals.
