Most pre foreclosures do not end up in foreclosure...yet the public thinks they can get a great deal on what they see in Zillow. Most of the inquiries I get about forecloses lose their interest when they find out they have to buy with cash at the auction.

we get calls from buyers and new potential listings from Z.... Tammy & andy pay monthly for their position with Z.... I don't like anything Z does but it's their money and so far, they've made money on it.

I do preforeclosure work outs &  I've had people call me asking about a short sale that just closed. Zillow didn't update the status even though the MLS was updated. Answering as Listing agent on these, I don't get my SS listings from Zilow.

No and like everything else to do with that site, they drive me nuts!

People find the pre-foreclosures there and 99.9% of the time, they are showing that taxes are in delinquent. In NC, that is NORMAL -  we pay our taxes in arrears.

A complete waste of time becuase being in pre foreclosure means they are behind and some where in the process. They most likely owe mor ethan it is worth and certainly dont care to talk about it. SOme though are old and the people are paid and may get offended

There has been quite a few successful stories from what I can tell.

There are a couple of Ivy League gurus quit their 6 figures day job got into flipping business FT they each earned 7 figures last year here. With almost no down. When you are young you have great risk tolerance.

I am President of my Condo Association (our version of an HOA) - and we are foreclosing on an owner. I can't get involved on the sale side as long as the current owner is involved (arm's length transaction) - but it's been in the courts for 5+ years now. I don't know if anyone has approached the owner from the Zillow pre-foreclosure listing (I would imagine many have tried) but it's clear if the owner has no interest in selling, the pre-foreclosure listing is meaningless.
