Here in NH with the first in the nation promary, we have politcical workers from all over the USA that come in for various campaigns. SOme fall in love wth NH an ddecide to stay buying a home.

Based on local and state laws, one must be aware if their voter registration and voting record are available. In most cases the answer to that is 'Yes.'

Whether the individual desires to be public or not, the reality is there is no place to hide.

Do I discriminate my networking opportunities based on politics? No.

Do I volunteer? No.

Do I make it a point to provoke? What do you think?

I used to.  In college I was a member of the Young ____ Group and I even worked on a congressional campaign for Jerry Doyle (of Babylon 5 fame).  Given how devisive politics are now (and which side I'm on), I wouldn't be overly public about my support for one candidate over another these days.  I do try and make meetings now, but they're usually conflicting with business networking groups.

My kidergarten classmate was a councilwoman running for mayor. She was charged with conflict of interest as she has a broker business. The year she was not running there were 7000 written in votes from women. It probably did not impact her career.

However, the Remax broker is a city finance director. He seems to gain ground in my neighborhood.

I do not network with political groups or campaing for locat/state politicians.  However, I have been on boards before, including current president of my HOA.  In these positions, I have gotten a more clear understanding of what Politics feel like inside.  The idea of helping my community is exciting and I must say that I have thought about running for local politics myself.  So, while I have not campaigned in the past, I have definetly given it stong research for the future.
