It doesn't surprise me. The number of viable leads I get from Realtor.com is not enough to fret over it though.

I won't pay a referral fee for a lead that my listing garnered them to begin with. Ridiculous!

No, have not heard of this Annette but if they call, I will be sure to negotiate the fee.

That's interesting..... at least in AZ, I can't pay them or anyone a referral fee unless they are a licensed broker and provide me with their W-9. Same with a relocation company.

So.... will Realtor.com become a licensed brokerage?

That's good.  I would sign up for that!  Much better than paying for leads that never turn into anything.  35% is not much higher than the rate I've paid and been paid in the past...

Thats quite a fee for a questionable buyer lead.

Most of the sites are switching, i have been called feverishly and still vetting their offers.

Annette ~ It is in place, but I thought in only a few markets, with a national roll out to follow.  More money to them, as they see it with the Opcity acquisition, by keeping things in-house.

Because they want to suck dry a new crop of agents who'll accept this on the back end; being less agents pay to play on the front end. Exactly like OptCity, 35%. That's robbery.

heard it a while back, but don't use them, never have.  Wouldn't even consider it after NAR sold the use of the domain.

I'm with Debe Maxwell, CRS  on this... not paying them for a lead on my own listing that we give them free to make money on us. I just dont like this game
