Disappointing....and yet when you point this out .... you get push back from others claiming you are a hard ass...I just called out our MAR Board who posted about Sold Signs of when you can and cannot use them....  Now they are bringing me to the disciplinary board to explain myself... I cannot wait to destroy them.... pathetic I called them..and Pathetic our boards have become.... fearful I am not.... thanks for sharing today...glad there are others out there not afraid to showcase how weak our industry has become by allowing anyone in to the business...

This kind of thing doesn't bother me much. It is perhaps a dis-service to the seller to a certain minor extent but the confidential remarks are for agents only and not overly significant in my opinon. The agent didn't get around to updating the confidential remarks .... not too much (if any) harm done in this scenario.

I see that often.  Yes, one needs to update the comments.  And, those days are gone ... the days of setting an offer deadline ... that agent must have also missed that memo.  

Perhaps in this shifted market, the agent meant 1/28/2020. HA!

It's unbelievable how poorly agents manage their listings. 

Either they never came to terms with their many Offers or they forgot to mark the property Under Contract....and we have to phone them to ask before wasting our time in case it's the latter!

I see all sorts of commentary by agents in listings that is outdated on a regular basis - open house dates, offer due dates and more. Makes you wonder about what they are doing for their clients, or not.

Once and done on anything online can go stale. Not dissing a fellow agent in a public facing comment and from one not updated entry am not going to judge him/her good bad or ugly. But will say when you get a contract calling for ASAP within hours acceptance, things go badly too. You want the seller who happens to be on vacation, at a funeral, getting a root canal, whatever to have the complete offer. To share with his or her mate. To sleep on it, ask some questions and then expect a response. Too tight with the dates works badly for everyone. Timing is everything but room to breathe on a big decision is needed. Not everyone makes snap decisions.

Unless the deadline is accompanied by 'house will be sold on Monday when owner will make a decision" this is simply a negotiation strategy....and in this case...lacked the seller empowerment to make it real.

What do I think of the agent? They were smart enough to makes sure the comment was not public.  At this point the issue only affects agents and they really don't matter. If the buyer likes the house, the agent will take action as needed. If the buyer agent is smart they can know the seller is experiencing frustration.
