My front page, neighborhood page and about page do rank highest.
Ask Marte Cliff - she'll tell you how important the about page is!

About is not clicked that often for me. Mostly listings.

Very low rate on the about me page, but my community pages and the IDX searches are the tops in the hit parade.

Good question but my site has been dropped by google analytics at the moment or I'd be able to tell you. Still working on it to get it going.

Our blog posts on jobs, the pillars that are long but loaded with helpful information are what get the most engagement... not the about page. Small rural markets operate a little different than population centers in urban areas. The local flavor community videos are what cause the listing and sale traffic. The community pages after that... for local info that is not so plentiful in small small Maine towns.

Annette,
Based on the success of our clients, I think we do a great job with their marketing. We do not focus on the ABOUT page, we focus on helping them sell their listings, work with buyers, and expland their sphere of influence....That has more value in my opinion than worrying about analytics and Google bots. For my real estate websites, the About page ranks around 50th most visited page.
The most important pages are the listings pages. People want to see what's available for sale.
In my opinion, the most important metric to track, is what pages are getting you leads.

People want to know who you are. I know when someone has found me on the internet, they might start on neighborhood pages, but if they get really interested they go to my about and my testimonial pages. How do I know... somehow they always tell they checked me out there.

I say, I hire good people that spend their time knowing this so I don't have to; I'm only paid to deliver the goods in real estate, not tech.

I say I just do what I do. My clients come from my personal interactions not from a website or any other advertising. Advertising is just for name familiarity as far as I'm concerned. BTW, I'm as busy as I want to be so I'm just fine with what I do and could care less if an "expert" says I'm doing it right or wrong.

About pages in my book are vital.
First off if someone navigates to your "About Me" page, they aren't just casually browsing your site looking for information. This would be an 'indicator of interest' to borrow a phrase. Having it tuned just right is critical.
Additionally, it is important to Google. Among all their ranking factors is author reputation. Google factors in your online reputation when deciding how to score any of your web pages. They give this extra attention to YMYR (your money or your life) pages, such as those dealing with financial matters.
Borrowing from the Search Engine Journal
"In fact, they state that YMYL pages that have no information about the content creator should be rated “Lowest” in terms of quality rating. Of course, the Lowest rating also applies to any page where the author has a negative reputation."
To summarize that, not having any way for Google to gauge your page author's reputation is as good as having a crappy reputation. The solution to that, of course, is producing good content and making sure that you have a great "About" page.
This all being said, I don't think it needs to be the highest ranked page on your site, but it does need to be visible for the people that are really interested in you and what you do.
Of course, now this has me thinking I should test out remarking campaigns for people that have visited a site's "about" page.
hmmm....

Internet marketing experts make their money from ads they display on their website articles. The more articles the more ads the more clicks. It is rare to find a marketing expert who knows what they are talking about. The good ones are not writing articles, they are keeping their secrets to themselves so their actual merketing clients can benifit from their expertise.
If your about pages is one of the most visited pages then the rest of the site needs serious work. Real estate buyers are not looking for us, they are looking for a home, who we are doesn't matter. Hence the success of zillow, whose about page says they have never sold a house.
