You might as well just Google different types of alcohol to see what the feature fairies have been drinking!

Producing quality content that educates, motivates, or teaches seem to get featured quite a bit in my opinion (as they should). However, I see many posts that are really good that do not get featured though so who knows to be honest. 

 I think the AR Gods feature a variety of posts but they must provide quality content .... 

I have heard the criteria many times, but the results that I see seldom match up.  I dont worry about getting a feature and once in a blue moon one shows up.

 Not that I know of but you can go to the main Feature page and scroll down through them and get a sense of what is Featured.  They are generally on topics that are universally beneficial or interesting to the whole membership.

That said, if you see something you believe deserves to be Featured but isn't, tag me in the post for inclusion in the next edition of Second Chance Saturday.  Edition 100 is coming up tomorrow!

Quality content that Is well written is what I think they are looking for. I have read many posts that had excellent content that I felt deserved to be featured, but they also had both grammatical and spelling errors which probably got them rejected. In my opinion they are also looking for new topics that haven’t been written about over and over again. Originality, well written and well constructed with great photos.  

I sincerely believe they truly look for good content coupled with good/clever pictures Peter Mohylsky, Bucket List .

Like many others I do not write to be featured,. Sometimes it seems those who write regularly get featured, but it may be quantity produces quality. Sometimes it seems ambassadors get featured more often, but again it may be because it is a universal post.

I think it's one of the filters, maybe the third one.  But figuring out what makes something featurable is an exercise in frustration.  My featured blogs were about searching AR, finding out where TinyURL links go to and why I chose to buy a paid AR membership.  Numbers 1 & 3 benefit AR.  #2 was a good security related one.

I recall some complaints here that some spammy blogs had also gotten featured, so who knows.  When the bangalore prosis get featured, then you know it's time to give up.

Not that I know of.  Quality content is a good start.

It isn't important Peter, write blogs to attract the public to call you.  Features don't put dollars in your checkbook.

They are a fickle bitch. I've had Featured streaks and then cold streaks. 

I never write to be featured though, I'm often taken by surprise when I am.

There was a time when I studied which posts got featured and tried to emulate them with absolutely no success. Now I write for my readers, not for the AR gods. Much more successful :)

I doubt it... and it's not something that would tell you much if you follow featured blogs... they are all over the place.
