I saw a Dateline episode last night - ONE small town in Texas has 600 illegal immigrants EACH DAY crossing the border...in that ONE SMALL TOWN.

I agree, it's a problem but, sadly, this negotiating tactic isn't working. Our leaders need to find a better way to address this problem once and for all.

Not as of yet, except for the flood of broadcast news stories full of opinion and lacking the news. I am despising all politcians these days. Instead of compromise we have block everything and anything proposed.

Now I know why Jimmy Carter was not reelected. He surely created a trade mess by starting with China and created problems at home. His administration experienced shut down 3 years in a row.  That dental man!

I am affected (nauseous/disgusted)  by the up close and personal look of some the people who are supposedly running this country, how they are acting and how dysfunctional they are.  We have the resources to make America a paradise and for all to have a quality life. Get on with that program....Meanwhile, our enemies watch and learn about how to divide and conquer us as did Osama bin laden & 9-11. 

I am not affected by this shutdown, just a little inconvenience. But with 800,000 workers not getting paid and used as pawns by our government, is a disgrace. Government officials are elected by us and to serve us. DO YOUR JOBS!! The people will force you one way or the other to stop playing games and start doing what we voted you in for. I don’t mind a good fight that Congress and the President have, but don’t bring government workers into it.

I have a friend who is an Air Traffic Controller. She is now working but not getting paid. How safe do you feel flying under in this situation.

Security check people at the airport (TSA) are also working without a paycheck. Some are not showing up since they are pursing cash jobs elsewhere in order to pay their bills.

Bah humbug I'm closing loans We are TRUSTING borrowers with agreements to update with paystub/bank statements etc if needed. WE closed loans without the 4506T so far, but now have a better work around that one. IT will cost me more time which is money but I am not letting a tantrum slow me or my customers down. This could go on a long time. How can we get your client to fund around the contract or get private money to close her upleg?

The TSA agents were all grumbling and were very unhappy. I made sure to thank them for being there without pay. I think we may all be affected if secirity slips at airports due to lack of staff.
