I am not a fan. I do not like receiving marketing texts and would never send one. I would never do business with anyone who spam texted me a marketing message.

I HATE getting random texts. SO many marketers are using it. It leads me to believe people would hate if i did it. I text those i know, those who hire me and those who ask me to text with any updates.

no, no and big fat NO.  like you I hate it.  And like "door knocking"  ... I would NEVER do to someone something I dislike.    Do I ever send texts that might be "considered" advertising?  Yes.  But it's likely to be a holiday greeting, not an advertisement of any kind and they are in my CRM because we HAVE a relationship.  There is zero as not NOT ONE, chance I'd ever text random people.  I block those numbers as fast as those texts occur.

I'm open to it, have not used straight SMS/text marketing to a group yet. I would use it once in a blue moon (4 times a year MAX) with my warm data base on a valuable offering or event. I would also include a simple opt-out process.

Personally, I block the numbers that do that to me. I don't market that way. I communicate with text as and when appropriate, but that's it. We have enough spam in our email boxes, do we really need to add to it on phones?

I received a lot of texts around election time. It REALLY irritates me as I had not signed up to receive anything. I don't mind coupon texts from stores that I have given my information to but feel it is an intrusion if it is unsolicited.

Don't like junk mail, robo call or spam. The list of things I don't like increases daily. It aligns with folks that complain, "I don't go to Disney because there are so many people there." Reality is that is how you know where the good stuff is....that where you find the crowds.

SMS works. But be aware, such marketing is looking for that sliver of the population that their message will resonate. Everyone else just needs to get over it.

Many AR agents look down their noses at agents who use the telephone for cold calling. The FACTS are cold calling on the telephone works for those who work it.

SMS, spam, junk mail, robo-calls, cold calling and door knocking work. But there are a gazillion companies ready to take agents money to provide an easier, gentler, less bold method.

SMS as a component of 'inbound' is highly effective.
