You are not required to use Referral Exchange. Go to the CRS site, search for CRS agents there and then reach out to them directly.

No need to even use the affiliate - there's really no need for the middle man!

Disclosure: i'm not a CRS. Well, i'm,  but not certified.

WAY BACK in the day, Referral Exchange was Agent Machine. I didn't seek them out, they contacted me about a commercial client which was out of my service area. I then signed Carmen up for the service. It was free then , just a referral fee. My understanding is it costs more now (see below). We worked several leads through them, and we discontinued quickly as we discovered that the leads were low quality and being sent to multiple agents at the same time. We did take one listing through them which we cancelled. It was a brief relationship with this company.

Others have had worse experiences with them:

I don't/haven't used "referral exchange".  As far as referrals I might consider "anonymous" members akin to "thug mentality".  No offense. ActiveRain is about relationships which can't be built anonymously in my opinion. 

Not sure what problems you are talking about. Not sure why you would characterize this as a "thug" mentality. As far as I know, you can reach out to CRS members directly if you are a member, yourself.

I think that Debe Maxwell, CRS has answered your question.  I don't understand why you would deal with someone with thug mentality (name and prestige)...You can refer to anyone you went.  Just because someone has the CRS behind their name does not mean they are tops in the business, just like anyone who has a law degree is not a guarantee that they good...A

I stay away from most thug services, surprised to hear that there may be one associated with CRS, are you sure they are really associated, or they may just be claiming to be associated.

The way to decide on a referral is to take the time to research the individual you are referring to for a good match.  This does not happen because of various designations, or ranking in ActiveRain or any other platform IMHO.

I have known many with CRS designation over the years  and would not describe a single one as a "thug".

Use who you choose.

I don't know about Referral Exchange, but have been a CRS for close to two decades.

Ones it was a good thing but now there are so many other ways to do it.

If you have a problem with that lead generatio source, do not use them.
