I am in California,  and I want to search what is around me.  I could care less about a property in Zanzibar.  Real estate is local, each market is different.  We have 100,000 people on the coastal side of Santa Barbara.  Each neighborhood is different.  We live is a small seaside community of 14,000.  and there are different markets here...

I like our local MLS.... the last thing I'd want to see is a gang of listings from across the country on ActiveRain....and people would need to search to find their local area???? I'd rather they follow me and can see everything we have...

I see where you are going with this. I would like it. As a consumer who is looking into several different states and areas to move to in the future, we have resorted to using zillow because it is a one stop shop. As much as we hate it as agents, it gets some things right for consumers.

I don't believe people come to the Rain to search for homes at the end of the day. But that being said, lots of people are not searching in their town... they are movi8ng to another town. Charlotte is a huge destination city, for example.
