Never... I always have business cards with me... in my purse, or my wallet, or my pocket. Never could understand those agents or other people in the service industry who say "I just ran out of cards" when asked for one.

Let's see... there are 7 days in a week, and typically 4 weeks in a month (give or take)... and I work typically 8-12 hours per day... with requests for my cards about once or twice per hour... so that would equal....

... Never.   I always have a business card on me.

Never, I always carry them.. they are in every pocket in every pair of trousers, and every jacket pocket, in my car, in my purse, and in my leather portfolio/briefcase.  I was showing an apartment just the other day, and was in the lobby of the buidling waiting for my clieints, and two of the residents asked me for a business card.

I hate handing out business cards.  I would much rather not have one, get the person asking to give me their contact info, and mail them a card with a handwritten note.  Handing a card is simply lazy if you don't get the information of the person asking.

That just happened to me this week, but I knew the lady and saw her on a regular basis, so I gave her one a couple days after she asked. I try to keep some in our glove boxes of our cars in case I don't have any on me. ( This business will never be paperless)

I get asked for my card often, because I network and host events/attend events. I'm never without a card as they are everywhere, my car, my planner, my wallet, my shirt pocket, my bride's purse. I'm better prepared for a referral than an earthquake here.

Have to say for me, 'not one time' Annette Lawrence , Palm Harbor, FL 727-420-4041!  And that being said, there are many people that 'do not have a business card on them', 'just ran out', 'only have a magnetic to put on your frig without their name' (and had to ask twice for that), etc.  Maybe all companies do not have business cards for their employees to hand out, even when they are in direct contact with a customer, and that is a mistake!  I want to remember you and your company, because I'm not paying your invoice (it's being paid by the buyer or the seller) and may want to call your company again, and request 'you'!

I always have cards with me and am surprised how many agents don't. One thing I do is write something on the back. Many, many years ago an old salesman told me a biz card with something written on the back is less likely to be thrown away.

that's a great question for my daughter, tammy.... her answer would be "my mother carries her cards plus my cards".... and dare I say, she secured a listing because I was there with her and had her card.... she leaves them in her car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is far easier to ask for a card than to be asked for one.  It is way more effective, too... if followed up properly.
