Do you mean buying leads?  Realtor dot com burned me for $2500 per quarter some years ago.  They sold "my exclusive zip code" to several other brokers after taking my money.  I will never do business with Realtor com.

     Or, do you mean my buyers and sellers doing their own searching and surfing of the web?  They prefer Zillow hands-down over Realtor dot com.

In the early 2000 I did pay thousand for it. Gave up. Too much money and never had a real buyer from Realtor.com

I have never purchased leads. It is just not my thing!

I know an agent here in San Diego, CA that swears by R.com, but I've read too many bad comments in here ...and I do not buy leads.

We get leads from Realtor.com and other sources. No matter where leads come from, it is what you do with them after you get them that is important. If you buy leads without have a good plan to turn them into closed transactions you are wasting your money.

A lot of e-mails and at the end of the day no result. Most our sales are with cooperating brokers. 

I do my own lead generation so do not need them.

decades ago, I bought the featured post boxes in my town and paid BIG BUCKS.... had them for years...but I needed them since I was top listing agent in my town...  now it's lost it's juice with so many other sites available.... Z trumps it.... 

You're talking about buying leads... better ways to spend your money. I haven't see a legitimate lead from realtor.com in years.

never tried that one.  Did z and t for a bit, but find getting leads on my site SO much better for success.

It works because it's the most up to date platform but it has no personality to attract customers to it. Every other portal makes the consumer #1 in the process while Realtor.com had a 10 year headstart and still hasn't found their way. I believed it's sale would have changed all that, not so!

Seems to me... it works for some, not for others...comes down to how you want to spend your money...and keeping track of your ROI.

If you get a good ROI, you use it... if not, ditch it and look at other avenues...

The site is good for home searches.

I get great leads from Realtor.com from buyers not working with agents who want to see a listing of mine. RARELY is it THE house for them but, I wind up finding them something else - maybe not then but, within a few months. 

However, I don't pay for leads, these are just leads from my listings that are fed there.

Works in what way?

I got two free leads from Realtors.com even talked to two buyers looking for basement bargain.  Their leads are not bad. They want to sell you zip code.

What ever we post here make sure you sign up with them as it weights as much as 500K pts. 

We don't feel that one needs to buy leads.  And the feedback from agents we have worked with have not felt that the leads they bought from Realtor.com did them any good.  A

We used to get some good leads back in 2003 and 2004. Since then, we rarely get leads from realtor.com and we don't buy leads from them. 

We've never used Realtor.com for anything except for having our listings syndicated to it. -Kasey

I use Realtor.co to get people away from z and other lead gen sites.

I know a few of my buyer clients have used R.com, but usually recommend the public side of our local mls.

We accidently got a lead from them over the weekend.  It said the number and email were verified.  When we tried calling, it was a disconnected number.  That sums up my view on that site.

Never paid them for leads and I can firmly say, I never will.
