the only time I've separated myself completely from work is when I was vacationing on an island .... no work at all.... if I'm on Cape Cod, I work.... I work on the beach, but I'm working...and thinking about work.... but when you love what you do, it's not work... I haven't worked in 40 years.

1. Is the only way to define it. That allows 2,3,4 to happen and 5 is fun once you arrive in a foreign land.

If you work in any fashion when you go away, YOU ARE NOT ON VACATION.

I usually go somewhere completely out of my comfort zone & never even think of work for a minute. Find that spot.

When balance is applied to any endeavor it refreshes as you work-it

I guess it all depends on if you allow yourself to work or not.  Shut off the work cell phone and get a burner for the week for your family to reach you on.

Personally, I've found that you can often mix work and vacation.  I did a little bit of work while in England and Ireland in May.  Not much, but about an hour's worth over the two weeks.  Didn't impact my enjoyment any, especially since it was when I woke up and when I went to bed.  The rest of the time the phone was in airplane mode.

I just got back from 3 weeks in Mexico with no phone no tv no internet and guess what? I survived! 

I just took a 3-week trip and I would say I accomplished 1 - 4.  I am still sorting #5 out. I think that is what they meant when they defined the term "vacation".

You can define vacation in anyway you like---no rules, no restrictions.  Just Luke anyone can.  Have a good time. 

I don't care where anyone vacations, or how long...

I do think however, every agent needs to have someone to cover for them when they are gone, and not try to take a call when they are engrossed in another life...

Just enjoy YOU and doing what brings joy to your heart. 

A vacation can be anything that each individual decides they want it to be. In reality, I can't remember the last time I felt I needed to be rejuvinated, as such.

We like to explore new places.

Annette, the first thing I do when I go on vacation is set up an office. I know, that's sick, but I always sell properties or take listings while on vacation. Ironically, I work a couple dozen hours over two weeks and ignore my real estate life most of the time. I really to rest and relax. 

No 1 sounds good if possible.

I define it simply as J A M A I C A... MON!!!!

  I stay juvenated.  So N/A

Very funny and sad at the same time...Foreign lands with islands have poor to no reception.  A

After the first 4, 5 comes into play!

We have gone to Europe several times in the past and every evening I have responded to legitimate calls from the U.S.

Sometimes you do not want your associates or friends to know you are away from the office.

I just got back, and worked off and on the whole time.  Have fun.

You deserve 1 nd have someone cover for you.

You forgot to add #6.  Alone and  armed with a pen knife in the middle of grisley bear country in the springtime.

Rejuvenating doesn't have to mean absolutely no work, although that's one option. It could definitely be doing something new or going somewhere new/different. Those two things would be my choice.

I just got back from a 1400 mile road trip to watch my granddaughter from Eagle, ID. play in a soccer tournament in Bend, OR. We also have family in Bend. We had a great time!

Did I answer my phone? Was I on my computer?
