I've met some buyers and sellers affected by the similar Dumbing - Skrewger effect. They think the agents and the public are much dumber than them, and can screw them with overpriced listings and lowball offers.

I'd never heard of this. I'd have to read more about it. People that think they know more than they do in general is fairly common, but I'm assuming that's not really the same thing. I don't know that I ever have. At least, I have never met someone that has told me that they have it (though would someone with it actually admit they had it?). I have met less than a handful of people that think they know everything. Those people are frustrating to talk to because there is nothing that you can talk about that they don't know.

Unfortunately, when real estate agents venture into areas for which they have no knowledge, but believe their own marketing material, they are traveling on Dunning-Kruger Boulevard.

One can never know their true incompetence until they choose to become competent. Nothing pulls back the curtian like knowledge.

There are those who are denied education. They tend to not have proficiency in many areas.

Then there are those who had access to education but refused....and are proud of it. These are those among us I call ignorant.  "PROUD OF IT!"

When we refuse, choose, are repulsed by any attempts to hear the other side, which are we?
