In my mind Stabucks is frivilous spending for a second rate product! 

One of my favorite members commented that Starbucks does not offer anything that will make her more beautiful.

For those of us who are more frugal, yes! 

It always has been in my mind 

$5 for a cup of marginal coffee.  No thanks. I brew my own at home and enjoy it in peace and quiet. 

I do believe it is a marketing pitch that far too many can relate to ... thankfully I am not included in that group of Starbuck addictions.

I'm a regular every morning at 5:30am at Dunkin for my double cappuccino extra large....they see me drive in and start making it.... by the time I get to the window it's ready.... and they charge me half price.... my cappuccino peeps... they do good work and give the tip they deserve.... one good turn deserves another....

I don't care for their coffee so Amazon is not my frivilous spending place.

Well it’s clearly synonymous with bad coffee and great marketing, but they do tend to use that as an example a lot because it something most people can relate to.

Hasn't it always been? Has been for me anyway.

I find that it is a good analogy. 

No, it's just a very popular product that the majority of American consumers can relate to.  Plus, as far back as I can remember things have always been compared to the price of a cup of coffee... it just used to be at a restaurant or diner.

They do make a decent cup of coffee but over all I would say yes its frivilous spending I probably am only going to be in a Starbucks a handful of times in a year.
