Brilliant. As somebody who wanted to be noticed by program directors at radio stations, I can tell you I sent flowers, alcohol, pizza with demo tape attached to it, even a singing telegram one time.
I think it's wonderful that they got the house.
Flowers make me happy; why wouldn't they make a seller happy? 🌻🌷🌹

I don't believe these really clinch the deal if the price and terms aren't "there." And letters can be dicey... I know someone who was going through a very vitriolic divorce. When the house went on the market, one buyer sent a note saying how much they loved the home and could feel the love it in! The seller had a great laugh on that one... there hadn't been much love in that house for years! So the letter got attention, but maybe not in the way intended!

As for getting my buyers' offers noticed... I make sure they put their best foot forward right up front; I make sure the offer/contract paperwork is 100% complete and clean; I make sure to send the offer with my cover letter summarizing the terms of the offer and why they are good and why my clients should be seriously considered. All the other stuff is fluff.

There are many strategies that can help buyers "win" in a competitive,  multi-offer and overbidding real estate market --- knowledge of that local area and its protocol/ practices is paramount. 

That is a nice gesture by the buyer. I wonder if they would want them back if they were not picked? I try to tell my buyers make their best offer first. Eliminate or reduce contingencies. Get pre approved and include the letter. A better offer gets better results

Yes, indeed, flower POWER can help tip the scale in ones favor in certain situations. Nothing wrong with adding a little positive sentiment.

Was that offer the highest and best offer?  I've not seen any sellers hearts soft enough to allow a bouquet of flowers to win out over $100,000 or more.  That is what we see in my market. 
I've known letters to work. Not so much in today's market but 10+ years ago.

I thought this was going to be about the video I saw recently online somewhere from the buyers who sang a song. Flowers were a great idea!

Differentiating yourself from "the crowd" is a strategy that while not always a winner definitely will get you noticed. I like it. nearly as much as the Seller & Buyer apparently did!

A pre-approval from a local and highly respected mortgage loan officer and a contract with no conditions are good starters.

The was very creative for that buyer. I am sure that it made a favorable impression on the seller. I am also confident that the buyer also provided a compelling offer which was the true basis for the ultimate winner.

If someone meets my buying criteria anything after that is amusing

the key words there were "how well she took care of it".... it's always appreciated when someone compliments the homeowner on that fact...but to complement the compliment with flowers, trumps it all...

I have seen buyers doing extra to get attention to their offer.

Smart move! Got to think outside the box, it's competitive out there.

Starting with an offer that is written correctly, correct form, correct spelling, property description, correct math, timelines that make sense and one that doesn't have too many objections for seller can be a good first step.

I received calls from lenders assuring me that the Buyer is pre-qualified. One mortgage company had a guarantee that they will close on time. 

I do my best to find out early on what the sellers are looking for in terms other than price. I try and establish a positive connection with the listing agent if I don't already know them and I provide a cover letter covering anything useful for the seller to know about my buyers, their strong qualifications and appreciation of the home.  Maybe I'll try flowers the next time. :)

What a great idea!  Easy, cheap and to the point!

No fluff here - just put your best foot forward and make sure you submit a winning Offer right out of the gate. 

Agents are not sharing the letters sent by buyers (because they don't want their sellers making an emotional decision). So, all you have is the details of a strong Offer to stand upon. 

As a listing agent, I would have had to really talk the wife out of falling in love with the flower-bearing buyer...unless, of course, the Offer was, indeed, the cleanest & best one!

Flowers are a nice touch!  Never saw that before.

Does she get stayed in the house?   After closing I bring a flower plant to the realtors and they say I am the only male realtor bringing them a plant during their long career....

I present their best offer up front, properly drafted, cover letter, pre-approval letter and a phone call.

That is pretty slick. I have not heard that one before.

Wow. I have never heard of that one. We discussed multiple offers this week and in our area, the most money and least amount of contingencies win regardless of letters and photos sent to the seller.

We are in sales and selling is a part of getting my clients offer accepted. Building instant rapport is the crucial part of what we do. I also have built a personal relationship with our local Realtors and have a great reputation.  This pays dividends and makes being a part of the community most enjoyable.

Having a conversation with the LA and know exactly what the seller is looking for helps, and assuring them the transaction will be smooth.

Worth a try and whatever it takes sometimes when you really, really want something. Good for them! I recently wrote up a letter about a borrower I have to go along with the pre approval letter.
