Oh my gosh, no clue.  I have taken time off from AR for personal reasons and I did drop significantly.  I was able to climb back by participating again and those above me stopped participating.

If you are talking about the leaderboard for the community (not by location) then it would be significant.  That leaderboard makes me scratch my head.  Blogging for the sake of points to climb that ladder is pointless if you don't have quality business content to grab someone's attention when they have a referral.  Just my opinion.
