Yes I knew Twitter was the best place for news. They were right about the elections before anyone else. Why do you think the President tweets so much? LOL

It's a new world!   But "Consider the source" is more important than ever, with social media.

Excellent!  Glad the issue was resolved.  Yes, back in the day when the "Breaking News" app was still working (before NBC killed it and fired the staff for not being biased), they used Twitter as a main source of breaking news.  Lots of great videos and photos from on the ground people.  Used it to monitor the terrorist attacks in Paris that involved multiple locations including the rock concert as well as several events and protests out here.  Great source of actionable intel.

As Paul Harvey would say "And now you know the rest of the story"!.

Good to know nothing nefarious was going on...thanks for the update, Fred, and now you can enjoy your weekend!

No doubt about it, my Twitter Feed brings me many interesting updates throughout the day ... and it is usually there that I get the news that I later hear either on other social media or the news (of course it depends on which news channel you are watching or listening too).  IMHO

I have no confidence on any news story right now regardless of source.

Yes, I use only Twitter for news and google more details if necessary.

Thank you for the update Fred. So sad to read about crash as I dug a little deeper into the story and after seeing Staff Sgt. Carl Enis' name I remembered the news about it from several days ago. What a great young man he was.

When I was in Honolulu during the Ballistic Missile attack fiasco, they tried to cancel the warning via TWITTER although the warning had gone out over everyone's cell phone--and everyone expected to get updates the same way. Sheesh!

I read about Sgt Carl Enis but I did not remember the article mentioning where he was from Fred Griffin . Thanks for filling us in.

I believe it - it seems that even when we get the news from other sources, it's not just untimely but, it's often slanted with opinion. I do miss good old journalism.

I noticed that as well as Twitter is the best place for actual news, rather than some TV networks with fake news. I like the best for news.

I'm used to fighter jets... west Phoenix is home to Luke Air Force Base. So we get passes once in a a while from F-16s, F-18s, F-35s. I'm also close to another base for Apache helicopters - a regular sight.

But we also get UFOs!!! (on the news last week)

Twitter is fast and often accurate, with the right source. Too many other sources are slow to get things out to the general public. I do not feel TV, Radio, & websites have the flexibility to push anything and everything out to the public like Twitter does.
