I have used Duane Homer(now online) for years. 

I go to the CE Courses offered by my local board. It isn't a bad idea to look into private instructors classes too. Some are really good teachers.

I enjoyed the GRI and MCNE courses, since I took the MCNE courses in 3 separate states, the cost was much higher, but absolutely worth it! These go way beyond the needed CE, I highly recommend them after you do your first couple of deals.

Check with your local board, usually they offer CE classes close to you.

I take mine locally... they wouldn't be applicable to you if you're not in NC. Besides, what does "best" mean? 

Here in NH i love the online CE courses so i can do them in my free time and not waste a day or 2 or 3. 

What is your definition of best course? Very subjective question and answers to follow.

I recommend reading the law about continuing education for your state.  Here's why:  In California most people would tell you that you need to sit for 40 hours of education, either online or in a classroom.  The fact of the matter is, CALIFORNIA LAW only requires that you pass an exam covering 40 hours of material.  There is no requirement to sit in a classroom or computer screen for 40 hours!!  I use a site that is specific to California and I can knock out my 40 hours in about 40 minutes, spread over 3 days (we can only take 15 hours of exams per day).

That's why I say read the law, I save 39 hours every 4 years and any courses I do take are because it's a subject I want to learn, not because I'm trying to check off a box for the state.

I have taken classes from two "teachers of the year"...they were both the absolute worst!

Learn all you can...particularly read from your state real estate commission handbook.  The more you learn the more you will realize that others know nothing.

I make good use of our Associations classes. They have a great variety and try to bring in top quality instructors.

In fact, in August, they are offering a Seminar at Sea. 4 night cruise to Bahamas and 14 hrs of CE credit. Now that sounds like a great way to get some classes.

 cheapest and fastest. I do not see much value in most CE online courses that are not updated most of the time.

I like in-class courses.

Kaplan does a pretty good job. 

We have used McKissock ... and/or our local Board holds the CE Classes at the office or on-line.

No doubt it varies by area, and CE courses would have to be applicable in your state, so what I use would not matter. I would ask some local agents who have been in the business for a while.

I often used Rockwell here in Washington but I don't think they are in Utah.  Check the leaderboard for Utah and ask those agents.

     In Florida, I need 24 hours continuing education every 2 years to maintain my license.  I use an online school (Bert Rodgers).   Ask the agents in your Board or Association where they take their CE.

There are so many of them. Suggest you sign up the better ones. When they have >40% off enroll.  Cost for CA was $39 with discount good for 4 years.

Your broker should be able to provide good advice for you.

in MA, I do my CE online and I refer all licensing to American Real Estate Academy or Bill Morgan...

Quinn Eliason The courses given for continuing education are approved by the State Real Estate Board on an individual school basis. All the courses are within their guidelines. The learning value is in the class room instructor who gives the course unless you take it online or by correspondence.

GRI , ABR and AHWD  were 3 of my favorite. We also have a new one that our members spearheaded and that is Gold Key Certification, Excellence in Professionalism. They got it approved for 7 CE and  for the first 2 years was free to our members, now is $10,

Look for and take local recommendations!

Quinn, It depends on how you learn best. No one answer is best for all. I do most of my renewal classes online, but I've attended many in live classes too.  Some subjects need the give & take only an inperson teacher can provide, others are just fine to do at your own pace at home. 

I have used an on-line company - First Tuesday - for my most recent needs. Very satisfied with the outcome. Caveat: I think they only offer California licensing and renewal courses. www.firsttuesday.us
