Work with a reputable lender in your area, then promote the seminar on the medium potential the first time buyers use, mostly social media.

We work with Loan Officers. They tend to provide a location their conference room and coffee. The use of FaceBook seems to help.

I tried a few times but attendance was low. Team up with a lender and promote it to apartment dwellers.

I do not do them because people have not turned out in the past.
People here are using (co sponsored with LO's):
Coffee houses with chat over coffee, handouts, etc.
Rent a room at the local pizza place & have free pizza, pop & have a conversation.

I agree with Endre Barath, Jr.. Out here banks often put these on themselves and partner with agents. I know the local wells fargo has (or had) one every month and brought in different agents to talk.

1. Create a custom/targeted audience for Facebook ads.
2. Do a local press release.
3. Send an email to your customers and SOI list and ask them to invite a friend.
4. Offer a door prize.
5. Get a sponsor and have snacks.
6. Partner with other agents and have them duplicate the efforts to multiply the outcome.
7. Fliers / Door knocking in local communities.
8. Direct Mail to local apartment communities.
I say do all of the above and have a blow out event!

As a lender, I have found that the people coming are looking to learn more about debts, credit, and income to buy a home. A lot of time people put these events on with a Lender, Realtor, Insurance, Inspector, Title Guy. But the first time home buyers really want to know what it takes to get qualified to buy. I think when we involve all the other individuals it should be a class on when you want to put an offer on a home. I'd word the workshop like to attract not only first-time homebuyers but also repeat or boomerang buyers too.

Praful Thakkar Have a lender and an attorney ready to assist your seminar. Give away a lot of good information to attendees.

Give them something they want to know. A local lender partnered with several real estate companies, insurance agents and other related businesses. They did lots of social media blasts, advertising, billboards, email invites, mailouts and had it at a great local venue with good food. There were less than a dozen "maybe" buyers that attended.
I think a better venue would have been at a new home development with lots of mini-seminars. Buyers will come out to see the houses because that is what they want.
