Do you mean that tipping point from which everything degenerates? Where people are just so tired of the complications and BS that go with technology that they opt for simpler ways? I'm seeing that.

I just turned 39 and I have a Master's in Computer Science.  I love tech, but I've always been more of a "business is about people and relationships, not just numbers on a screen" person because I've been around this business since before fax machines.

Personally, I love and can't live without some of the improvements tech has given us, but others I can do without.  Video, VR, social media... no thanks.  I've stopped using all social networks for personal use and am even cutting way back on the business use.

Gaming is WAY better with tech as are movies.  I've seen barely any movies in the theater and I'm pretty sure I invented the "Theater, Redbox, Netflix" rating system for movie desirability.

I can see some in society taking steps away from technology, especially those of us who are more privacy focused, but I think tech will continue to evolve and improve our lives.  Personally, I'm waiting for the pill you take to grow a new kidney/liver/etc. that they had on Star Trek 4... or faster than light space travel.  I think when that happens we'll either continue our waring nation/state mentality in the stars, or we'll meet some more advanced civilizations and have more of a "Star Trekian" coiming together moment.

John,

I am certain that there is more to come.  I think we may have reached as humans not working in tech a saturation point.  I can assure you that when we design a website for our clients, they are easy to work with for anyone.  That is our first priority.  We believe that what is important is relationships, and not Googlish Gobblediigook.  A

I do not think we've come close to reaching the pinnacle of technology, though totally appreciate your comments John Meussner.  I can certainly share my annoyance and frustrations over passwords, glitches, updates, etc.  While at times it really is 'more trouble than it's worth', I view it as a necessary evil.  Not being a patient soul, I probably experience more than most . . .  HA!

Yea, just like they were going to drop the patient office in the 1899 because everything was invented that could be invented.  Charles H. Duell was the Commissioner of US patent office in 1899. Mr. Deull's most famous attributed utterance is that "everything that can be invented has been invented."

Nope but I do believe that security has taken a forward step. As long as people have their passwords as 1,2,3,4 there is going to be problems.

I think that soon we are going to boom with self driving cars, electric running everything.

No, we are just at the beginning of learning to use technology. As time goes on, we will find better ways to use the science that we have created.

I think the frustration that you are experiencing comes from developers creating solutions that are looking for a problem. The kinks eventually get worked out.

But the world is ever changing. Some people just refuse to leave their comfort zones. Just think, in the 70's we were faxing every document and we thought it was great. You wouldn't want to do that today, at least I wouldn't.

Supposedly, a U. S. Patent Office ranking poohbah said many years ago: “Everything that can be invented has been invented.” While that may not be an accurate quote, it gives me the slack to say: Don’t get you panties in a bunch because there is so much more to come in the tech world.

No, the way the new generations are so reliant on tech, we are moving towards a sci-fi future very fast.

About websites being more complicated, well, that's the fault of the developers, not the tech.

Absolutely not!

Today the frontier of technology is in biology (CRISPR) and AI.(powered by blockchain)

We are in the midst of punctuated equilibrium and the outcome will not be know until it is in the rear view mirror.

A word of  caution to those with the intent to bury their head in the sand.

Either learn how to command technology to accomplish your goals or be prepared to take your instructions from a computer.

Certainly not.  We have not seen anything yet. It's just the beginning.

But I hear what you are saying. There is technology out there that are only 'shiny objects' that add absolutely no value or the cost/benefit just isn't there.

Choose wisely the right technology tools.

No, I expect things will continue to progress...and we will still have hiccups and bad people doing bad things and security to overcome.  Constant battle.

Also, I recently heard a speech from cyber security expert saying that soon no passwords will be needed.  Our devices will be able to recognize us.  Makes it easier and more secure.  He said 2 years.  I think it's much further away.

John Meussner When I first got into real estate there was this new technology that would revolutionize real estate. Electronic Realty Associates was the first to come with this new technology called the fax machine.

When I first got out of the military I went to work for a company that had a contract with NASA. They had CDC 6400 Large Scale computers that filled up a room with the processor, tape drives and hard disks in cabinets you could walk into. These computers were the forerunner to the supercomputers. Today your SmartPhone has more memory and processing power.

No, we haven't reached the pinnacle of technology. You're referring to procedures to keep the sites and users safe. It's the hackers who are doing this not technolgy.

Pick the plaforms that are worth the ROI. The tending the technology if you do it right and learn to love it gets results. Because like those who don't blog, use video, etc just help drive business to those who do and get the exposure. Think customer. The days of planting a sign and hoping something happens pretty much on the local level is dinosaur real estate. Caveman Realty.

There is lots more on the horizon - I don't think there is such a thing as a pinnacle of technology in general - I view tech as coming more in waves.  We do reach the crest, but there is always another wave coming.  I find it exciting to see what is coming with the next wave (AI, Big Data, Proactive technologies, Healthtech and much more).
