I wrote a blog post about this scam yesterday.

Yes I have received in the past. Very annoying to say the least. 

Spam comes in many shapes an sizes in addtion to the metal rectangular can which has been around for so many years.

Yep, been making the rounds on Lab Coat Agents for a few weeks now.  Some people fell for it too... like Redfin would be selling a lead!

So out of Curiosity, I took the bait and paid the $10 through Paypal, ( which can be disputed if necessary, also it's a lunch money missed, could go without the extra calories) to see what will happen.

They did send the full details of the the lead, phone number and email back by the same automated text, after I saw it immediately online.

I called the phone number and left a voicemail.

I will update you  on the progress.

I get them all of the time but they are always taken before I respond and I respond immediately.  Redfin is unfair in their practice of going to the first responder since some have faster service and others have auto-respond.

No, they want $10 for the lead.  That name did not look right. At any rate it is NOW linked to Redfin that I need to log in my account. They must pass on surplus inquiries to agents.  Mine was meant for 95127.

This looked pretty official but I am pretty sure it is not actually Redfin.  I just received one of these and forwarded the message to my computer so I could dig deeper.  The domain it comes from is  actually "com-pre-qualified-lead.info"  The leading "redfin." is a sub domain from that website.  

Here is the data from Whois.com:  https://www.whois.com/whois/com-pre-qualified-lead.info showing it is out of Delhi India.  

No yet, but I received tons of calls every day from other companies. It’s so annoying
