Yes, I did not know that, and neither one of us has any issues...There was a Harvard Study done in a home where patients could not get us to use the bathroom. They started with smallest of weight lifing . Within a few month, they could get up and go to the bathroom by themselves. This restored their dignity and all their vital signs improved. A

Yes, I did know that. I've been doing weight bearing exercises since I was in my early 30's.... that;s almost 4 decades. And it explains why when a car hit me in a parking lot and when I fell down my garages stairs and smacked the concrete, I may have been bruised, but nothing broke. At 50 I was told I had the bones of a 30 years old after a test.

Yes, I knew that Barbara, I did weight lifting for about 2 years twice per week at age 69/71 and should really get back to it. Exercising, and aerobics does nothing for your bones. Thanks for the reminder. So far my bone scans have been good no signs of osteoporosis!

I know this and I'm glad to see you spreading the word. Weightlifting is an essential part of maintaining strength and fitness.
I'm not a skinny girl, but I'm strong and reasonably fit. I lift weights a few times a week, take Lagree Pilates classes a few times a week, walk the dogs just about every day and do my daily planks.
As I get older, what drives me is fear of losing mobility and independence.
