Glad things are rising for you. This varies by region. Here in NYC metro area, economy (as well as real estate) had been going down and/or stagnant for last couple of years. And, things are expected to decline more this year given the tax changes (which are actually a net increase in my county). I've been trying to insulate by business/income so it's less dependent on economic downturns.

Until we get some inventory here in Charlotte, I feel like we are going to keep going at the same pace we have been...it's a feeding frenzy!

Right now people are working off of the hype, when they get their real tax bills and the folks who lost their jobs this last month start effecting the economy then things may soften.
But until then lets party!

We will still have a shortage. People just don't know what they want to do & in the back of their minds are still afraid of the economy.

I focus on the luxury end of the market, and I think the economics are pointing to an up market.

There are fewer vacation/summer rentals as many homes have been bought up as second homes by those who can now afford it better and feel more confident about their wherewithal. Our vacation market in CT is fueled by New York City's securities markets and high end entrepreneurs.

I think we are going to be heading in to a busy Spring market.. the activity level has already risen with more listings coming on the market in the last couple of weeks.

We have a very active market and most homes are selling with multiple offers. I sold two this week.

Steady healthy supply and demand fueled by low interest rates means entry level will take off and the trade-up market will come back & thrive too

My market is red hot. The issue is not having enough homes to sell. People in starter homes need to be able to find a step up home to free starter homes for first time buyers

My market will be "difficult" until we get more inventory. And I'm not sure the economy will fix that. We had inventory issues for three years.

Thank you to those who took a minute to answer. It was interesting to see everyone's optimism throughout the country about the housing market in relation to a strong economy yet there are still plenty of differences around. It's been extreemly slow to get moving in rurual upstate NH, but we are finally seeing some traction now and actually have a shortage of quality inventory.
