Yeah, you have to question and take everything with a grain of salt. That's in politics.

To a broker, reality, truth, accuracy = quite important. So yes, I am even more diligent with real estate issues because politics is theater. Real estate is not.

I don't fact check politics. Just like any statistics, they can be manipulated anyway the politic bent of the party is.

Fact checking is key, as is critical thinking...Both of us are constantly researching and checking...As a grad student I haunted a few carrels of the libraries both at the University of Minnesota and at USC.  LOL  A

I pay little attention to political speeches. As for checking real estate issues... anything that could pose a liability to me vis-a-vis my clients, yes.

Yes, and it is near impossible to keep track of the lies this year.

I don't usually fact check any political... but I do fact check anything real estate related... especially when it concerns me or my clients.

as listing agents, we verify all information about the home given to us by the seller.... town records .... building dept. records... board of health records.... tax information.... etc.... 

Politicians wouldn't lie!  Yes CA really did have a drought.  No, those lines in the sky aren't weather controlling chemtrails.  Yes a high speed rail line that uses busses is still a high speed rail.  No, that contract was awarded to Senator Feinstein's husband's company because it was the only one that used busses, not because he's married to Sen. Feinstein.  Yes, guns are the problem not the criminals we're letting free who go and use them.

I will admit, I did fact check some of the items last  night. 

I sure do.  In real estate, I spend a LOT of time digging for the truth and plugging holes in seller and agent disclosures.  I have a duty to ensure that my clients are well served. 

I put very little weight and spend little time on listening to political speeches.

There are a lot of facts that just aren't true.

The numbers don't lie but statisticians do. And from this origin, transgression occurs.

Only thing I fact check is a buyers ability to purchase at a certain $ level.

The problem arises in the time it takes to get the truth in politics!

Someday the media will go back to reporting instead of giving their or their manager's opinion!
