I guess my question is what kind of "leadership" coaching is needed for the average real estate agent? Unless you are a broker in charge or a team leader, what's the purporse of leadership coaching. The average agent needs much more coaching in running a business, managing finances, marketing skills, negotiating stills, etc.

I believe, it depends how large is your brokerage, in small companies, you are not getting HR consulting paid by a broker.

I've had leadership training, and I have a tiny office. If I had a larger office, I might think it valuable. There's a lot that goes into being successful in business and especially in our business, and life skills many new and some seasoned agents do not possess will hold them back.

Is this for the BENEFIT of the agent or broker? Are you wanting to survey agents on what they want from the broker so the broker can adjust the business model to better serve the desires of the agents? Or are you going to offer some training FOR the agents to make them more productive?

I can't tell if you are offering the broker help or the agents help. Personally I wouldn't care if you were in HR. Doesn't seem to help with the 'real life' of real estate. Maybe a degree in psychology.

I wouldn't for just me but, brokerages may to help them train their new agents (and a LOT of old ones too!) how to run a business! Good luck!

Slim, to little to no chance of hiring a HR professional for leadership coaching when so many well know organizations offer the same thing and the broker gets a little 'kick-back' for new subscribers.
Instead how about showing the agent how to get the most from their data base. Of course you don't recommend more newsletters or market reports or Facebook subcribers.... but stuff of real fabric.
Let's say you promise to show them a tool for jacking leads from Zillow without paying Zillow a dime. IMMEDIATELY the conference room fills up. You show them the tool.
But your purpose is to teach these agents how to construct a survey/poll that will reveal meaningful information about their contacts and their farm community as a whole. AFter all you just showed them how to create a massive email list by jacking Zillow.
Yep, what I'm talking about is local statistic and analysis gathered by the agent. That's the REAL stuff, IF the tool they use is not compromised by selection bias.
The outcome is the agent is NOT throwing spaghetti at the wall, but is responding to exactly what the consumer has raised their hand for and you showed them how to create a massive list and exactly what the should do with this 'never met' list.
Now hiring you becomes an entirely different deal. You can make a difference in the life of every agent who knows what they believe is revealed by what they DO. So sort out the spectators. They will prove to be time holes.

Your thinking is sound but I wonder whether large Real Estate companies are budgeted for this. Figure out how you can get paid within the flow of things. You must answer the "whats in it for me" everyone is thinking

I am wondering who would benefit from leadership coaching, other than than a team leader or the broker. Probably not your typical agent. There are some good questions to consider. Perhaps talking to some area brokers would also be helpful.

I've gone through a few "who moved my cheese" and "true colours" classes in my corporate days. Some of the most painful classes I've ever had to take. Sorry, but not a chance. If I hired an HR person, it would be because I had a mega company and needed someone to manage the employees.

Jason,
I know that some brokerages outsource to a larger companies and get a referral feel. The truth is that brokerages do not make a lot of money especially when they have agents who are on a very high split. A

Jason Osborn Nice thought, but agents need to do business. Not much time to participate in surveys and focus groups.

Not likley, my broker offers "coaching" sessions for our agents, ( and a variety of courses from outside sources i.e. Brian Buffini, but they are for lesssons in generating sales, being held accountable for doing what is necessary to meet your goals in sales.
