I got my license in AZ 1 month before 9/11 which changed our/the market big time. Everyone wanted to quickly get their money out of the market and into real estate as. soon. as. possible. Feeding frenzy!
I had a 'full time' job as a magazine columnist and expected to 'ease into' real estate . . . that DID NOT happen and I went from 0 to 60 in a couple of months. It was exciting and fun and I enjoyed the ride! Gah. I'm still enjoying it, although sometimes it feels like I am driving the short bus! hahahah!

Back then my goal was to sell homes. Coming into real estate back then, there was not a lot of eductaion, coaches or tips for new comers. You went out and learned fast.

When I first received my license in Florida, my goal was to jump in and learned as much as I could and be successful in my new career. I was very lucky and I achieved all my goals and then some. Good luck to you and your real estate career Cade Grosskreuz

I set a goal of 12 transactions in my first year (not realizing quite how lofty a goal that was)... I had 11 sales, and 1 rental. I count that as achieving my goal.

It was very long ago and my goal was to make enough money to pay my expenses and pay for extra frills like vacations and some niceties. My husband made enough for us to live on.

My goal was to make as much in real estate as I had in my previous job. I came close so I spent the next 18 years creating new goals

In reality I got my license 25 years ago because I wanted to know more about the REO process. My husband was purchasing properties at the Courthouse.

As a single parent raising two children, my one and only goal was to survive and be able to support my children and myself. Everything else was gravy... I also hoped to achieve the experience to build my business...

Can't remember if I had them. No is the answer.
I'm saying the whole training thing was a sham. I did get the gravity of what I was getting into.

Oh, hell, I don't even remember if I set a single goal back then! I flew by the seat of my pants for years!
Now, I run my business like a business - I write goals and plans each and every year. When you write your goals, you WILL achieve them!

My business plan established the income level I would need at 12 months and from their I established each 90 day gate.
My first week at the brokerage was identifying where the greatest potential existed.
My second week was creating the action items that resulted in touch enough people to create the lead.
From that point forward it was refining the message and method to turn leads into conversions to client to closing.
The mountain is to big if you focus on the score, you need to stay focused on each play, each step.
If you do the little stuff right the big stuff takes care of itself.
Did I know that when I started? Of course not. But now you do.

I can't quite remember 25+ years back. And goals today for a new agent would probably be somewhat different than for one back then.
