I think if you are showing the driveway, you need to show the crack, otherwise it would be misleading. If sellers don't want the crack to be shown in the listing photos, take out the photo completely and show the home from a different angle.

Lighting lights and popping color is one thing.  I do not agree with photoshopping water into a pool as an empty pool can get damage and photos of fake water in the pool can mislead buyers as to the level of care taken with the pool and it's condition.  Editing out the crack in the driveway, absolutely not.  That is misrepresentation and hiding of a material fact.  Most driveways have cracks, mine got them 6 months after being poured, it's a fact of life.  Fix it and take a new photo or show it as is.

Todd Phillips No, this is deceiving the potential buyer. You did a good job covering up the crack, but your selling the home not your photo. Educate you seller on the topic of misrepresentation.

It is a horrible picture but i would not edit it. i would take from another angle. NEVER cover over defects

The reqirement is to present a true picture of the property in all advertising. There are numerous products available to fill in a crack in concrete. I doubt if the crack will be a deciding factor in someone deciding to buy that house. This will just cause potential buyers to wonder "what else are they trying to hide? ?

I agree with everyone else here and say no, it is not okay.  I'll even add that no, it's not okay to even photo shop an expected repair before it's done.  There are two ways to handle this in my opinion.  You take the pics as the property is and post them in the listing and return to update the pics when the repair is made or secondly you withold taking the pics until the repairs are made.  You can always add photo's after the fact, but never in anyway should you mislead anyone about the condition of the property and as their listing agent it's on you to inform the owner of proper full disclosure.

TOTALLY DECEPTIVE.  I would not take the listing if a seller asked me to deceive the public.  This would not only make the seller look like a liar but it would not be good for my reputation.  This would be MISREPRESENTATION.

If the picture is being taken with the driveway in the forefront, it needs to include the crack. If the crack is fixed in the future, then the picture should be replaced at that time. Most people who say they are going to fix things after the house is on the market do not fix them. 

I would take this photo from a different angle, more 'on center' without the driveway taking up as much space as the lawn does, especially since the garage doesn't look like a double (maybe it is, it just does not look large).  I would not hide the crack.  I would power-wash the sidewalk (next to the driveway) and add some Pot Gardening, because Curb Appeal is so important Todd Phillips, and I don't see any 'color' out front.

I would take the photo from teh angle from the left side of the house.  No need to point out the defect, but hiding it is completely out of the question.

The buyer responds to an advertisement. They arrive and SEE the actual property with their real estate representative. The "full service' listing agent is present and makes certain no one parks on the drive.The buyer hires an inspector who walks the real estate. The appraiser assesses condition and value.

And when the Evil Empire replaces the street-view with the google street view image it becomes clear many seek a idealistic, non-existent, utopia.

What one includes in the text of the property description is important. Maybe in that text is 'Driveways represents condition after seller completes resurfacing before closing."

If only it were that simple to repair a crack problem. Seriously, a Quikrete concrete repair would have been a better choice. I would not want the looming possibility of a potentially expensive misrepresentation.

No, the driveway crack is a property flaw that directly affects the value and is a disservice to the consumer.

Total misrepresentation.  Tell them no can do - if they push back tell them you may not be the agent for them, and that any agent that does, is putting them in potential legal peril.
