I had a negative comment recently and several members let me know their disgust with that member; they were clearly more upset about it than me!

Someone is having a bad day or is simply a Negative Ninny and I don't think reasoning with them really does any good - especially if they're 'fixed' in that mindset!

Unless he/she "it" posted anonymously I'd leave it up to expose "its" true nature.  If "it" posted anonymously I'd delete.  

I'm just completely tired of people today. F people like that. They live in hell and that's where they belong.

I laughed.  I would have erased it in the past, however, I felt that this exposed this individual for exactly who they are.  What is prized in the luxury arena above all is courteous and polite behavior.   Why delete?  He sounded his rattles for all of us to hear!  No need to report, he reported himself.

Holy crap! I'd delete immediately and forget this person existed. Of course, if I was feeling really ornery I'd probably leave a few pithy comments on that person's site.

I would delete it. I've decided a long time ago that I should not have to tolerate offensive or rude comments. This would fall into at least one of those categories.

I would leave it up, others will respond to them for their rudeness, but I wont.

Fred, I've seen enough of the type over the years.  With only 40,116 points, he still hasn't figured out how this community works and has mistaken it to be like Facebook where he can say whatever he wants without consequence.  Mostly people like him leave the platform because being a troll doesn't sell here.  Or they finally "get it" and realize undercutting someone's public facing post is just rude.  Bill

Carol Williams I agree with you on this.  Agree with many others here, but often people who do this are looking for a reaction and they are not worth your time.

People who have too much time on their hands to posts rude and obnoxious remarks need to go look in the mirror.  AR is not a place to troll and be rude.  If you don't have something worth contributing move along to FB where they enjoy the battering.  This is not the venue.  

That is harsh Fred Griffin, and if someone cannot post a civil reply, where value is added of some kind, then just 'walk on by'.  I would Report it, not delete it, and comment on it.  I would not stoop to their level, this is not a game, this is life.  This is not FB.  We are not here to degrade anyone, so 'if you cannot help yourself', this site is possibly not for you.  No one is here to be rude.

Honestly, it depends what I wrote.  If I went back and thought "yeah this post sucks" I'd probably thank them.  If I didn't, I'd probably offer up a snarky response.  Some people just enjoy being trolls.

I would screen shot, send to bob and delete.  Some people need to learn to behave or play somewhere else.

In AR & in life there's negative people, worse yet toxic people & the Internet is full of real & fake profiles; people they call Trolls; looking to bait you into a nasty debate. Some people on AR are just straight-up nasty in their comments. Others are overly opinionated & don't express their feelings in a polite way or think that their way of seeing something is the only way. NONE are worth your time or response. 

Well a happy troll throwing their happy thoughts thruout the universe. He/she doesn't understand that AR never hits the button to publish.

I would ignore it. I would probably also visit that person's blog and see what kind of contributions they were making, though I wouldn't comment.

I wish I could see who this was or what post it was.  I've had negative comments once from someone who frequents the Q&A section.  It was on a market report back when there was a lot of frustration over the people who post 200 of them per day (I only did 9 a week at that point).  I ended up responding to it and it never went beyond that.   I think these days I'd delete them or just follow Candice A. Donofrio's route and disable comments all together.

I am a big fan of the saying "you can't fix stupid", so delete and move on considering the source!

OK, so now I'm trying to find out the post and the comment to satisfy my curiosity. Sort of a "Where is Waldo?"  I guess the  first thing that comes to mind is just to ignore it, but that is not my personality. I would always answer back and my comment to this one would be more to the lines of "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't comment.

I would be tempted to "return the favor", but then, it's a beautiful New Year, all things are possible, and some creep is not going to get me down! So, yeah, I would probably delete it.

Same as what many have said, leave it exposed if you can see who it is. 

Ironically, their answer, "This is totally lacking in useful advice" is also lacking in "useful advice" and makes me wonder, Why would they even publish this????

Goodness, clearly their mom did not tell them, if you cannot say something nice - don't say anything!  

What I would do might change on any given day Fred Griffin - some days I have more patience and tolerance ... 

I think he already has received much more attention and publicity than he deserves.
