Actually it's best not to multitask. Focusing fully on what you're working on is better. Your brain can't really serve two masters.

I actually am trying to focus on one thing at a time, but I'm at heart a multi-tasker.

Multi-tasker 

The greater the multi-tasking the less effective the worker.

Too many studies show multi-tasking is nothing more than consensual hallucination.

I am able to multi-task with the best of them when absolutely necessary, but I'be learned that at the end of the day I am much more efficient when I focus on one thing at a time, get it done, go to the next.

Sort of multi tasker- not that i try to do several things at once, but i usually have other projects to work on if I am in waiting mode on a current project.

Multi-tasking is a joke.  That's just doing X number of things at =sum(100%/X) of your focus.

Multi-tasking is a misnomer.  As Candice A. Donofrio said, your brain can't service two masters (at the same time).  You can jump from task to task to task in short succession.  I guess this is what we call multi-tasking.  It is very inefficient.

Likewise, did you know you can't feel pain in two places at the very same time.  Your brain can't receive messages that way.  You can feel pain in one place, then another place, and another... etc... but never at exactly the same time.

For me, multi-tasking is easy, though I'm trying not to do it as often as I used to Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®,CRS,.  I actually think it is fun, though juggling too many balls can lead to me dropping one, and that would never be my goal! 

Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®,CRS, In this business you have to be a multi-tasker. You're right in the middle of doing something important, the phone rings and you have another crisis. What do you do? I do agree focusing on one thing at a time produces better results.

I have an ability to put something on pause, if necessary, to face an important issue needing immediate attention. I prefer to do one thing at a time so I can devote all my energy to get it done.

Definately a multi tasker. In this business it is a must, however you have to do each task right.

I am going back to focus one - which is being totally aware of one topic or project at a time.

I end up with tons of unfinished piles doing the multi-task way. Changing that for 2018.

A multi-tasker who is making an effort to be less of such this year.  Let's see how that goes!

There are time I am so engrossed in a project, if the phone rings, it does take a bit to shift gears.  It was easier when I was younger.

I'm much more efficient when I take one thing at a time..I can multi-task but it always turns out biting me when I do!

I prefer to stay focused on one thing at a time. It is far more efficient for me. Exceptions are soaking my vegetables while I work in my home office or doing laundry while I work in my home office.  

Most women are multitaskers, we are designed this way to take care of our families. So we bring it in our business as well. 

As a parent, especially mom (I think), you have to multitask.

I can and have multi-tasked.... I don't like to and avoid it whenever I can.... one thing at a time and focus only on that one task is what I do...

Multi-tasker for sure! I work better when I have 20 things on my plate!

I try to focus on one thing at a time... but sometimes I get distracted and end up multi tasking.... but doing something well requires staying focused and doing one thing at a time.

I am a multi-tasker but if it is very serious and creative work, I need to focus and shut out the world.

I did not know about the time allowance for shifting gears.

It depends, and I have found that focusing on one thing at a time is the best way to be.  A
