well, I paid my dues and now I march to my own drummer.... I hate calls... I had 40 years of phones attached to my ear and builders who expected a return call immediately....and they got it....now, I respond only if a message is left....

When I was actively selling I didn't have a scheduled dedicated day off.  I took them as the need and desire arose.  I didn't turn my phone off though, except for major holidays. 

I haven't taken a dedicated day since the market slowed for this time of year. I call back during certain hours only.

I think it's a good practice to answer your phone if you can. About the only time I don't is when I'm sleeping or I can see the call is spam/nonsense. 

I love my job so I work whenever I can.  I do however book weekend appointments early so as to  make time for family on the weekends. 

I do not have a dedicated day off ... I take the time when/where I can. Every now and then I do "plan" an entire day off.

Paul, I take time off every day rather than one day.

During my full time working career, no! It was the nature of the business, including vacations! Now, absolutely have days off where no business takes place!

NO! Day Off = NO work, none! My clients love that I recharge and respect it and me for it. They see the value in 6 days of hard work, 1 day to reflect and recharge. I out perform any sucka agent working 24/7. I'll also out live them.

I keep my Sundays fairly free.

Off everyday with work thrown in here and there

We try to take Sundays off, but I still take calls that day.

Sunday is my dedicated day off for church and family time but I still take calls from clients.

No such thing, i work when there is work. I do block times off for my daughters school events or sports. I fnd taking a day off here or there is easier and then in the winter when it slows to a crawl,  look out South Florida. 

I dont take a dedictaed day, since I will always pick up the phone pretty much every day, except for major holidays,  however I do plan time each and everyday for kids, family, tennis, etc, so I feel I have a balance. 

On Xmas day I got a lead they need someone to make an offer. I returned the call next day.  Called annother agent.  Easy come and easy go.

I rarely work on Sunday but will do so if needed. I try not to take calls but am guilty of checking my email, texts and voicemail and will respond if it needs immediate attention.

Thursday mornings/noon and Sunday evenings are most likely my time off from work.

Sundays but, answering my phone is not like work to me so, I still do check emails and answer my phone.

Sunday.   Not until after lunch.   I make rare exceptions.

24/7 most of the time.  But there are a few times I will not answer right away.

No, but I have been taking Sunday mornings off, and late Sunday afternoons. I let the calls go to voice mail and if it's really something that can't wait, I'll respond. But it's usually not that important.

No.  When I was growing up my folks were very active agents and top producers.  They even had an entire city as their "protected farm" (who remembers those relics?) back in the day.  They worked 7 days a week and did so even before being in real estate.  For me, that's how I view it.  There are days I don't do as much real estate, but unless I'm "at a seminar" (aka on vacation) I'm always doing something... heck I even put a deal together at my "seminar" last year.

No... I don't have a dedicated day off each week. But when I do take a day off (rare as that might be) I won't take calls unless I see there is something I really need to deal with.

We work 7 days a week and schedule time off every week. We don't take business calls on planned time off.

No.  If we need time off we'll take it and have our assistant take our calls.  It does sound like a good idea though!
