I think it's ridiculous that people feel they can't compliment other people in the event it might be seen as harassment. I know someone who got mad that someone else called her "honey." It might be against some sort of rules, but saying someone looks nice, or their hair cut is great, is fine in my book. Telling someone you want to touch their boobs is not.

I don't.... I don't harrass anyone. By the same token I don not take offense to a compliment, someone holding the door open for me, etc. I do the same for others.

Oh man. I think if you hold a mindset of fear, it actually makes you more susceptible to problems. Just be yourself, come from a place of sincerity and it's all good. Unless they're assholes in pink pussy hats, women want to know you think they look pretty. Guy at the grocery store meat counter tells me every time he sees me that I'm beautiful, reaches out and hi-5s me. Makes my day! I wouldn't complain about him. I've complained about the dumb kids he employs that don't know what dry scallops are. LOL

I see nothing wrong with complimenting anyone.  That does not constitute sexual harassment in any way.. not even remotely in my book.  I think a lady should accept a compliment gracefully the way it was given.

I  have a hard enough time remembering to compliment my dates on how they look, so I don't have to worry about co-workers/clients/random people.  There is a BIG difference though between "Your outfit looks great" and "Your outfit great, but it would look better on the floor next to my bed."

Of course not. My relationships with my coworkers have never been questionable and there's no reason to change them now.

I can't imagine a world where "Nice hair cut" is construed as sexual harassment.

Has not altered behavior, who wants to live in a world where you have to think twice whether to offer a sincere compliment to a man or woman?  No inappropriate innuendos or unsolicited touching has ever been acceptable behavior for a gentleman the way I was raised. Respect others sensibilities and space, period.

Too bad that kind compliments are now suspect.  This is like any bit of political correctness.  The pendulum swings too far the other direction and creates chaos and fuel for lawsuits. And society is that much less due to it. True sexual harassment needs to be curtailed, but common courtesy should be encouraged.

I conduct myself as I always have.  I treat people with dignity and respect. If someone says something to me or does something that I feel is inappropriate ... I use my voice and I let them know it. 

The way things are going soon a conversation will be against the rules. Then common sense may make a comeback, hopefully, and things will begin to be more sensical!

Mature people can read signs, hear responses and act accordingly. Maturity, common sense and going about something for the right reasons all work. It was the lack of these things that cause problems. The Bee always chases the honey source but for what reason? Therein lies the key. True love prevails

I always try to keep things professional these days any way. You have to be care full about that joke you told 20 years ago that could offend someone who remembers it today.
