I stay as far away from that site as possible I want NOTHING to do with the company, the site, or anyone who works for the company.  

They lie and tell you: We'll give you $2000 of free advertising, our team will help you set up your own web page, we will take down negative reviews of you and you can cancel -- all lies

They take your credit card and you can never cancel, you have no idea who is supposedly clicking you and no way to measure return. I suggest you set up the free page and add images and give some honest reviews of places you go. You will get as much visibility with free as paying

Yelp is a giant scam!  They will delete or downgrade your reviews if you refuse (or stop) advertising with them.  They have been sued over this and the courts upheld their ability to do this.  I wish I never created a yelp account.

I've not used it... never heard anything good about it.

Several prominant realtors have use them paying a few hundred dollars a month. They claim people use Yelp to screen realtors.  I know it is also the place to vent out frustration on realtors posting very negative comments. I have been getting solicitations from them wanting to promote my site for a fee. I have them blocked. It is great to check out restaurants. They all hire paid reviewers to bump up their ratings.

That's funny you ask; Yelp has seemed to hone in on the Realtor market lately. They call me on my cell phone on the regular. I always say "Oh yeah, Yelp, the food site" & they explain how they are more than just a food site. Ironically I have a fairly developed FREE Yelp page for my business. Never has produced a single traceable lead though.

I do not - I've no problems with them but I also don't give 3rd party sites any money - that includes EVERY socmed site in existence!!!

I don't want the possibility for someone to hurt my business or leave abusive comments. There are plenty of other professional sites for agents to use when I have some control.

Oh I am SOO glad people in our markets don't even know what Yelp is. 

Yelp should have been tried for fraud, blackmail and other crimes. They are the worse ever! I know people who have had their businesses ruined because of them.

I've had a fair amount of luck on Yelp, but simply by having clients post good reviews... I don't pay for any advertising.

Those agents keeping their ear to the ground will ask their buyers and sellers about the resources a buyer or seller use. This is a critical part of marketing research.

If 90% of those we meet state an overwhelming use of YELP, that should direct the business owner regarding where they should spend their dollars.

If YELP is never mentioned, don't consider them as a viable portal.

I do not play in that sandbox. There may or may not be reviews of me present on YELP. 

Be aware, chasing INTERNET  leads of this type require a different strategy and level of commitment, otherwise the outcome is always, "It didn't work for me."

Currently I'm trying to learn all I can about Yelp. Reason is because when you look for a Realtor in my city Yelp and Zillow are on the first page. That's where I want to be. It can't hurt to be there. It's free to add your clients reviews and you can post lot's of pictures.
