I am an introvert who is often mistaken for an extrovert. I remember hearing about a study that said some of the very top real estate brokers were all introverts.... it's just that they knew how to put on a good act as an extrovert.

I'm an introvert. But I'm like Michael Jackson, when I go on stage, I perform and become an extrovert.

In sales you need to be able to approach strangers with confidence. I like to think of myself as a thinking extrovert.

It depends, I tend to be low key while others can be way over the top extroverts. Too low key and too over the top can be real turnoffs for potential clients.

I wander right down the middle - my husband is an extrovert completely. He once asked a cop giving him a ticket if was interested in buying a home and gave him my card.

The cop did call, but never bought from me LOL

I think in general an extrovert will have more sucess in real estate because you have to engage people, you can't wait for them to come to you. But, even introverts can become an expert and will subsequently become more outgoing as their confindence grows.

I was a technical trainer for many years and conducted classes for highly technical people that had expertise in a very narrow field of practice. Mostly they would stay quiet and observe the presentation until the topic rolled around to their area of expertise. Suddently they were chatter boxes, letting everyone know they were experts.

I think knowledge breeds confidence, confidence makes it easier to approach people.

I'm a big mouth extravert....  although, the older I get, the more I think first and blab later....

Hahahahahahaha. In Myers-Briggs, I am an ENFP. If you know anything about Myers-Briggs, w mine you can almost discount the extrovert part. Just a job I do.

The so called "experts" say that extroverts do better at sales.

I would guide the new agent to structure their business based on their genius type. The extrovert, know as the FLAME genius type, would have a different model than the introvert or STEEL genius type.

A team works extremely well when a full complement of genius types are members.

I am more extraverted and since we have to deal with people so much in real estate I think being extraverted is a plus.  I do know some introverts who are very good real estate professionals.  An introvert draws their energy from within themself while an extravert needs external stimulation for energy. 

It is important to be adaptable to our situations. I relish quiet time and grow weary of all the hub-bub. I guess I am an introvert at heart.

Every client has a different personality type and I think the best to be is flexible ... if the client is an introvert or an extrovert - you need to find the middle ground so as to not overwhelm the conversation but to stay in control.  I am in between.  Definitely not introverted but not such an extrovert that I blow people over.

Among our clients, we have introverts and extroverts.  Two come to mind, and both are super successful...Neither is better, it is all about branding and marketing.  A

I am an extrovert, but do not need to be the center of attention. A good real estate professional needs to know how to listen to the needs of her/his client and do their best to make sure those needs are met in their real estate transaction. Both introverts and extroverts can do this with professionalism if they apply themselves.  I have both types in our brokerage and both bring a different approach to how they work with their clients.

Extroverts tend to burn out.

I am an extrovert ... I really like to socialize with people. That said, some people are either just plain stupid, ignorant or full of drama so it kinda ruins my desire to socialize at times.

It's better to be an extrovert, or at least be able to fake it really well.  I am an introvert who can fake it pretty well but after a full day with clients I am inwardly screaming for some alone time!

I thought I was an Extrovert til I read Nina Hollander's answer, now I question everything I believed. 

I am more of an extrovert, while Roger is more of an introvert.  We both have changed over the decades Inna Ivchenko.  I know both personality types can be very successful in real estate, and do not think it is better for one type over another.  I think different types will connect and appeal to different personalities.  And, along with being considerate, knowledgeable, and polite, both styles are winners!

Inna Ivchenko I don't think it makes any difference. It's the end result that counts. According to Myers Briggs, I am an INTJ. Most successful people in management positions are INTJ's. The "I" stands for Introvert.

Each has its own benefits. My husband and I are both extreme introverts and we are wiped at the end of a long day witth clients or making phone calls. But we are excellent at our jobs and are quite successful. -Kasey

I would say extrovert, power under control. I am also a hard worker, I don't believe in quitting. 

Morph your personality as outgoing when you are with the clients.

Extrovert my little girl tells me all the time, well she is 39 now, but always tells me I can meet stranger and they are friends fast to me.
