Yes I tag, Inna and I like to be tagged so I know to return to the post/question.

I will say that I learned this year that when you comment on someone's comment on a POST, even if you tag them, they aren't notified. So, I start a whole new comment so they can be tagged...and notified!

I like to be tagged, helps me to know when to stop back.

I am fine with tagging and understand the system will not always let the person know you made a comment on if you don't tag.

I limit my tags. In my opinion this is an overused feature because members receive points for commenting on their own blogs.

Exception:  don't need to be tagged on my own post, as I will be notified, anyway.

Yes I do Inna, it helps me to know when to revisit something, like Bob Crane said, or when Tony and Suzanne Marriott, Associate Brokers notify me that "I've nailed it" or that they find one of my answers funny.

As far as the decision of whether to tag or not to tag in a comment is concerned --- it depends.   

When leaving a comment -- I usually won't "tag" the original author.  Afterall it's his/her/their post.  If he/she/they are interested in reading comments, they will see it.

When referencing someone beyond the author of the post, I may "tag" the person so they can "see" the comment I am referring.

I don't mind being "tagged" although any "revisit" may likely depend on if I happen to "see" it, "the time I have available" and many other random reasons which I will leave open due to the statute of limitations and executive privilege.

Tag! It helps me to find a response for one thing and to me it shows the other party is interested enough in what I said to bring mention to it.

I do tag when I'm answering a comment on one of my posts because otherwise you probably wouldn't know. I would not tag when I'm commenting on one of your posts because you are getting a notification already. For those same reasons, I like to be tagged and I do revisit and usually "like" the comment I've been tagged in. :-)

To tag or not to tag, that is the question. Sorry, I could not resist.

I tag if it feels like the right thing to do.  I sometimes go back to re-engage if I am tagged in a comment. However,  I am spending less and less time here ... I am consumed with other things these days.

If you tag, the person gets notified. If you don't, they may never know.

Be aware, when the publisher writes the a comment to the responder, the responder receives notification. If the conversation continues, then tagging is necessary to alert the responder a message is waiting.

However, I suggest doing this only for those who contribute to the conversation. 

Do I like being tagged? Of course. It is a "I see you" that goes a long way in sustaining the community.
